Hey Ward,
How ya been ?
I got a funky way of doing the decals... First, they aren't real decals, I scaned the sig card and shrunk it down to size... Then I printed them out on some thin typing paper, covered them with scotch tape, then sprayed the back with that 3M spray glue and stick em' on... I told ya it was a funk way, but they stick real good and the scotch tape kinda protects them... I would like to find out how some of these guys do real decals myself !!!

Instead of printing them on typing paper, have you ever tried using the decal sheets? Hobby shops sometimes carry the small half sheets from Testors, or you can order them online. Once the ink has dried you give it a clear coat or two and you're all set.
The thing to watch though is anything that is white in the decal can be tricky as most of us can't print white. They make a white background decal paper but it's still fairly thin and may not show up that well on a dark colored vehicle without first either painting on the white or using another cut to size piece of decal paper as a backer.
Next week I'll post a few pics of a something I'm working on now that requires me to use a backer piece of decal paper.
I love the trucks by the way. I've been wanting to turn the JL Mack Tools box truck into an auto supply company delivery truck by putting various sponsor decals on the box (STP, FRAM, Hooker, etc.), but I'm trying to figure out how to detampo the plastic box without ruining the plastic.

gets some med grit sandpaper (i use 320 the finer you can get away with the better but the finer it is the faster it plugs up unless you are wet sanding) sand the paint and logos off then finish sand it with 2000, wash with soapy water let dry good, then primer white, paint color choice, then clear, then decal then clear again for finished product!! Should take all of about 10-15min of sanding!!

lookin' good there SF, like to see a few more of 'em
i've done some decaling projects- but also have used labels with some sucess too- they're great if you just want to cover up the original tampo without removing and/or repainting... the glossy kind (avery) for color labels work pretty good- i just coat them with a microscale clear finish (which prevents them from fading if exposed to sunlight)
and they aren't too hard to get off - it doesn't damage the vehicle either.
here is a code 3 E-one rescue that i used labels on, the bumper stickers and license plates on all my vehicles are labels too...
i re-did all the trucks with decals since then- but i still think they all came out pretty good...
