I have created a small website to help with setting up the rules for this class so we can get them to Pat before the season starts. Anyone interested in running this class should check out the site at http://rcoutlaws.kicks-ass.net/
Thanks,
George Flores

Hi George.....Dave Berry here. Even though I won't be running in this class, I thought I could give you guys some imput to help this great new class along. From past experience, and the 1/18th BRP stock class we run at HSW as a good example, I would keep these RTR Outlaws as they come. The only thing I would suggest be allowed to be changed is: 1) Your own electronics (servo/ESC/reciever) and radio equiptment, 2) change the oil in the shocks. 3) batteries.....but that should be up to you guys just as long as everybody agrees with using the same NIMH or same LIPO . Keep the springs, tires/inserts, wheels, motor, shocks, gearing, chassis, and body the same. If you stick to these rules, I am certain everybody will have a blast with this class because it will equal the playing field (much more exciting) so then it just comes down to how well you drive.....and IMO, that's the way it should be.
We do exactly that with the BRP cars and everybody has had so much fun......again it comes down to who holds a better driving line. So.......I hope this gives you guys a good starting point with this great new class. I am anxious to see these cars run on Pat's track....they should be a lot of fun!! By the way, George, you are right......we all are very lucky we have such a great racing facility to come to and enjoy this hobby. Believe me, Pat would apreciate your support. ;)

Dave, Thanks for your input. I have added some new polls about the stock gear and springs. I like the idea, I just worry about it being hard to police the gear rule.

I had a couple people email me about the use of fans for cooling, I am gonna add this to the rules unless we get an outpour of people not wanting them. I personally think it's a good idea.

George,
We don't have any problem with the gear rule in our BRP class. If everyone understands that your trying to keep a "spec" class they should cooperate with no problem. It's more of an "honor rule". And it's worked real well with us. We all realize that it's more fun if everyone is equal and that it's real important to keep a smooth/good driving line.........now that's when it's fun. We also realize that winning by "cheating" isn't really having fun for the right reasons......winning isn't everything, but close racing is what it's all about. If everybody looks at it that way, you shouldn't need to police anyone.

I agree that a fan used for cooling the motor is an acceptable add-on. Reason being.....it's not really a performance inhancer, it's a cool way "no pun intended" to protect the longevity of the stock equiptment. :)
