I was watching this auction but my price was well below what it went for. Given that you can't tell the condition of the items - what here was the big ticket item? I know the Firebird (which looks to be cut and has window post problems) and Mustang are worth something but everything else is pretty pedestrian?

I figure: 8 bucks each for the Firebird, Mustang, Cougar, and Dune Buggy (I think the blue stripes makes it a Tuff Ones, no?) and 5 bucks each for the other four. That comes out to $52. Not way out of line, I don't think... yeah, the seller says they all have issues, but they all look fairly complete nonetheless. Good runner lot...

FWIW I'd say it's a fair gamble at fiddy bux.

That particular Cougar is somewhat hard to come by in decent condition. Like many of the Tuff Ones cars, it's about the condition of the art work. While the pix arent great, it looks like a pretty good kitty. HOWEVER! All the little playwear scritchy scratchys are easily obscurred given pic quality.

Far from the most coveted of colors the white 'Stang looks to be in 8 er 9 condition unless the off camera side is totally wiped. The Tuffy Buggy is not one of my personal favorites but this one appears to be unmolested with it's roof, glass, and driver presumably intact.

I've always been fond of Lolas. A little dip-n-strip to remove the mask, a quick buff, and some careful airbrush work to restore the stripe....she might be the darkhorse in the pack.

The yellow bird is what I term a fence car....as in I'm on the fence....Am I in the mood to fix a plain janer just on principle?....not so much these days. LOL! I've always considered the Chappy to be the AFX Shadow of the T-jet line or is it the other way around???....snicker....Like the hagard GT 40 they should be considered packing material and dont affect the overall value one way or the other.

Love the dialogue you guys is postin...

The neatest Chappy is usually the first nice one you ever gets, because if you buys any lots you is gettin some more. The nicest one I have, however, is one that nuther dave sent me, and it stays put! However, I too have a soft spot for GT 40's! I like Lolas too, but MOST of the GT40's have more detail (except the plain baby blue one) and the Lolas came with some odd color stripe combinations that, while being "collectible" for some just don't do it for me. I am holding out for a green or olive Lola - and will likely not find a peach in a bushel of dried fruit there! LOL

As Bill said, seems like TO Cougars have more than their fair share of smudged black stripes and worn through butterscotch. Mine only one is all frigged up in that regard. So if there is a chance that body is good it is worth a bit. If the bumps are present on the others (I need some chrome, and about the only way to get original is to buy cut wells/bent posts) it's not such a bad deal.

Not spending money on slot lots now, but if I was I could see $40's, which means I'd still get outbid :freak:.

With shipping it come out to $7.26 per body. From what I can see in the photos, the high bidder hasn't done bad. If he has chassis to mount the bodies to, and some spare glass for the missing ones. He'll have a decent bunch of runners.
Randy.
