Mater took a trip this past weekend. The track manager decided we needed to get out & away. So she packed, loaded the car, I grabbed the cooler, the 7 yr. grabbed his DS game and away we went. Through rain. Lots & lots of rain. Evidently we were following tornado activity through Memphis, TN. Very exciting. I drove the entire trip & we had one dry day. Sunday on the way home.
But Mater made his way through Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, back to Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, & back into Missouri. He went to the Montgomery Zoo via Australia. He waited outside as we toured the Hank Williams museum in Montgomery, AL. The police did not give him a ticket, but they did talk to him.
In Tennessee we checked out the Jack Daniels Distillery and caught up with Randy at Hilltop Racing. We had a fine visit with him & his wife, Carolyn. Thank you Randy & Carolyn for the southern hospitality.
I searched 3 different flea markets along the way, but the 7 yr. old came out the winner there. I found nothing of interest to me.
It was a nice getaway, but glad to be home.
