hey everyone openning new flat track and was wondering what I need to do to hook up with everyone and hold legal races at my track?

Also what does every one like or have for ideas, still in building stages but plan to be open in sept.

ALL ADVISE WOULD BE GREAT TO ENSURE A GREAT RACE TRACK AND GREAT RACING.

You don't need to be a sanctioned track (such as ROAR) to hold races. You need ample pit space, ozite carpet, heat in winter, air in summer, established rules, access to parts is nice but not a necessity, scoring system, someone who understands RC racing to run the program.

You will probably need a license to do business, insurance (if not sanctioned), determine if you are a for profit company or not-for profit club. Check local laws for variances needed to run a business.

Ovalman is right. You need to know what type of racers you have in the area. If they are already racing you probably won't be able to race on the same night they already do or you could hurt both the old and new track.

RC seems to go through phases. Right now we are seeing a growth in dirt oval tracks. Offroad is almost dead in the surrounding vacinity. Carpet oval is alive but breathing pretty heavy (puff, puff, puff).

Our building is going to offer everything from dirt to oval, and even rock wall. We have air heat and food at the track with the hobby store to boot. We are trying to get all involved in the hobby and even went to the other local track to help them grow as well. Maines Bank track in Benton. With all this we want to ensure that we dont leave anything out and unthought of. So thank you all for all the info and keep on racinging.
