I'm just getting back to running some 1/10 oval and need some help with a brushless/1s rollout. I'll be using a HD pro3 with SMC 4000 lipo/13.5 combo, anyone have any experience with this combo? I'll be running on outdoor asphalt @110' driveline
Thanks for any info

Not sure the rollout you will need, but we will need to know what type of speed control first. And motor type (Novak, Trinity...)

roll-out smoll-out.......most important w/ brushless is monitoring the motor temps...I'd ask the local fast drivers at your track for a starting point and then go up or down from there based on motor temps...

With 1C racing motor temps really dont come into play...At least they dont on the carpet, so I am thinking they will not be that big of a deal outside?
If it is novak I might start out around 3.50 or so.
Doug D had a good idea to ask the fast guy. Just make sure they have the same motor type, and speedo.

I did'nt mention the speedy as its a low end model and I have the only four in the US so nobody has any experence with it, motor is a novak smooth can with the sintered rotor. I'm not new to 1s I've been using it in my 1/12 since it became avalible; or brushless as I've been running brushless for years, just never tried this combo in a 1/10 pancar before. As to asking around, we're running a very mixed class with most running a 21.5 2s lipo. I'm the only guy in the state that even has a 1s lipo so there is no benchmark info availble. Thats why I'm hoping that someone else has tried this combo as I cannot use rollout info from anyone local. And yes temps are an issue, its 113F outside today here.

Well I would start at about 3.25 then and go from there. Stop if your lap times drop off to much at the 2 min mark. But your setup should be able to pull that gear no problem.

Cool thats really close to what I was thinking, just did'nt want to fry the motor after 3 laps lol.
Thanks

1c 13.5 doesent seem to be real critical on roll out as far as motor temps go, it's hard to mheat up the motor with only 3.7 volts. I,m running a 3.70-3.90 RO on foams 240 ft runline flat asphalt track and had no heat issues even in Hot Florida. Start lower and gear up till lap times dont pick up anymore or the motor gets to warm.
