Krib, i thought you liked the Concrete?
oldguy 08-05-2009, 11:28 AM Shawn, the way it is going, the Somerset, Pa. area can soon become known as the biggest, best, and most complete "R.C. Mecca" east of the Mississippi. A big concrete banked, oval (Rt.281), a new, cool dirt oval, a 1/18 scale oval, and now indoor carpet. How Two,2,Too Cool is that? Enjoy !!!
Team T2C 08-05-2009, 03:28 PM Thanks, Do Not forget the Offroad track that will be completed too.
That gives us everything but on road paved, But now We can have that too with the new indoor track. There is enough brand new asphalt in the major parking lots to take care of a out door race.
Parking at the mall is enough for 5,500 vehicles and 100 tour buses. so we are ready!!!
dancingd 08-05-2009, 03:38 PM Thanks, Do Not forget the Offroad track that will be completed too.

BRhodes 08-11-2009, 09:40 PM Bump! Started building my carpet car. As much as I have loved running concrete all summer I am still excited to get back on the carpet where I have a little more of a clue. LOL.

The goal behind this is to build local racers whihc we have none. This will assist in the rt281 super speedway development. We are gettin great interest in the local racers that existed thanks to Brhodes SR. I hope to have the place opened for those coming down to the oval cup so you can check it out.

13.5 or 17.5 depending on how fast you want to start out
Radio (try to get a DSM style)
Lipo Charger (too many to list)
Power supply (your dad should have one left over hopefully)

Back at ya Kevin.
Team T2C 09-10-2009, 08:07 PM Look like we will be able to pit up to about 90 people if needed! should be there this next few days getting it all finished up.
Team T2C 09-13-2009, 09:23 PM SRCA Update,
We are currently searching for people to come to the facility for a open practice day on the 26th of September. This practice will be for us to get feedback about who is planning on coming and racing at the facility, Also to give us input of the current track configuration (without ozite) so that we can better prepare for racing up until The end of November when are scheduled to receive our CRC ozite carpet.
Bob Rhodes and Myself spent the day testing 17.5 and 21.5 2 cell. We ran about 5 or 6 packs on the current carpet and the traction really started coming in fast! More cars with more tires laying in the grove would be very helpful. Bob Rhodes feels the track is big in length. And hopefully that is what people are looking for.
I can tell you that the facility is first class! More on the level of Steel City hobbies had back in the day! We can pit up to 60 during normal events and up to 120 for larger events!
Please Post here if you are interested in coming and allowing us to receive your feedback. We are trying to consider if investing in the ozite is feasible for this location.
gindlmi 09-13-2009, 09:31 PM count me in Shawn
Team T2C 09-13-2009, 09:33 PM wow mike Your were FAST!

Team T2C 09-13-2009, 09:45 PM WOW " Home" I do appericate the fact you are willing to drive so FAR! I just need to know what people are considering on doing for tracks!
Team T2C 09-13-2009, 11:21 PM no ice yet, but a feel for the layout of the building!
BRhodes 09-14-2009, 08:48 AM Guys this place has a ton of potential. I got a chance to try it out yesterday and the place is sweet. Hopefully Shawn can get enough support over the next 2 months to justify purchasing ozite for December. Count me in!!! As tracks in the area seem to be dropping like flies it is nice to see something new come along.
BRhodes 09-14-2009, 09:10 PM wow 1 person. I guess I should start saving up for a dirt oval car. LOL.
Team T2C 09-14-2009, 09:11 PM one person that is 3 hours away! MIKE G' is the man!
Team T2C 09-14-2009, 10:58 PM well we will hold out until the 26th and then decide, i hope that it is better then the response here!
torinoman 09-19-2009, 08:59 PM i,m in for racing at the new track
Team T2C 09-20-2009, 10:30 AM As you can see we really have no interest being generated for this facility to continue. As I told everyone at the tour race if there is no interest we will not open this track.
It in a way make us sad to say this but facts are facts.
jman91 09-20-2009, 02:11 PM Shawn,If we were closer,I am sure me,Dave and the Bramans would be there.Too long of a ride for a weekly show.Good luck with track,we are planning on making any big races you have.

Jerry, Thanks! I needed that! We really wanted to open this!
It was nice to see you again yesterday Shawn. I really wish you had the interest to open your track. Even if you didnt get the Ozite until November, that track would be the closest to me that would be able to make a Snowbird sized track for practice and testing. I was sad to hear that you will not be opening. Let me know how much you want for a "private test weekend" once the racing ozite is in! LOL
