I am running this pole due to the lack of 2 cell entries in some major races this summer. I would appreciate you posting what classes you are going to run if you are attending the Ovalmasters. Please do not post if you have no intentions of running. We have a class list and rules ready to post but will modify them if the need is there. We would like to run a max of 5 classes.

one update: if you qualify to run sportsman under TOUR rules, and you want to enter the Sportsman class. You will not be able to enter mutiple classes.

if i can make it i am looking at 13.5 single cell but if it looks like there will be enough entries... i might just run 17.5 single cell.

no... i have only turned a few laps on carpet. jim drove my car at the warm-up for the birds last year and at the birds. all my laps are on concrete. was going to run when we went to greenville but when jims car had speedo problems i decided he had the carpet experience so he should do the driving. car did so good.. that is why he drove it at the birds. now i will be behind the wheel this time so i figured i might want to crawl before i walk.. but turning left is turning left.

I agree. With that many people saying they will come out and play I think it would be great. Looks like we may be able to bank on 13.5, 10.5, 7.5, and 21.5. Keep it to those and we should be good. Allan and Mike have the final say in that area though... :-)

I went with 10.5, 7.5, and open mod because somebody has to be last...

If a group of guys are really willing to do Open, I'll run it and drop 10.5; if not I'll drop mod.

Thanks for the input. This is very useful information. I would like to see the day soon where we are on a single battery platform like we were with 4cell. we really don't want to have seven classes so the more input we get ,the better decisions we can make. We want to have this decided by next week....thanks again

Thanks Pat and Jody, but the TOUR does have 21.5/2 & 17.5/2 listed as a regional class. Since the Ovalmasters is one of the earliest races in the season, we will leave 2 cell classes in if we have enough people who want to run it. If there is a switch to single cell completly it will take a while. Do I think it will? probably. But the TOUR is about getting Oval together as a group. Not being heavy handed and telling people they cant run.

I really hope you have a 17.5 sportsman class, I have almost zero time on carpet and was going to try to make the Ovalmasters this year.

i would say the 17.5 class will be run every weekend at greeneville.

Caleb I plan on coming up as much as possible this year, with 3 boys playing sports it's hard to find time in between ballgames

john...when plan on going up let me know we will ride together when possible

I believe 21.5 2s was the biggest class at the Snowbirds. You might want to wait to kill it just yet. I would bet there are alot of racers that still have good 3200 lipos that would hate to have to give them away.

Mike we are finishing the 7.5 rules now. should have them up this week.
21.5 wings and cut out back will be allowed.

Between 21.5 2s and 10.5 1s I see 36 different names. It would be nice to see those 36 in one class instead of split between two that are the same speed. My 2 cents.

What are the battery rules for 1s?

After voting for a class is there anyway to see the pole and who has signed up for the classes? All I get now is class totals.

Forget this I just found out how to do it.:thumbsup:

I've never run carpet before, but I sure as heck want to try it out. I will be heading up that way a few times hopefully to get a feel for it.

I want to thank everyones who gave me their input on this poll. It will be closing tommorrow. I also appreciate the fact that only people who are planning on racing the Ovalmasters posted. I had several email from people who were not going to be able to make the race with their thoughts and opinions. Thanks for those also.

If you can make it to the race, this is one of the best I have ever attended. Allan, and Mike put on a heck of a show. Plus Applebee's is great after 10 or more hours at the track!
