I recieved the speed control instslled it corectly (been in the hobby for over 12 years) and it did not work tried everything to trouble shoot it I contacted mike nicely and this is the reply he is willing to do nothing and is dishonest and suggests dishonesty!! SO now I am out $100 dollars and have nothing! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Jeff, everything worked perfect when it was removed from my truck. the esc is only a few month old and i never had a single problem with it. now mind you your just now getting around to putting it in? you have had it almost 2 weeks? you could have get the wires too hot when soldering it in or chris crossed them on install. now i have a feedback rating of almost 60+ and all perfect on rctech, i DO not sell junk whatsoever, but i was not there when you installed it. i do not have another one nor will i reimburse you for it since i know for a fact it worked flawlessly and there are plenty of people on this board that saw it run as well since the last time i used it was at the last mars race.

my advice is to send it to lrp and get your local hobby shop to write you a receipt, thats how i got that one as my old one took a crap and i sent it in w/ a receipt so they sent me that one new in the package.

i'm sorry for the mishap but being unemployed and having to still have a roof over my head i do not just have money to throw back at you, or else i would and then just send it to lrp myself. do what i told you to do if you cant get it to work and then once again you will have a new one to work with

everything i said was true, it worked just fine when i removed it from my truck and shipped it to you, what you did with it in the 10 days you had it before you installed it is not my fault.

slander away bud:thumbsup:

IF you have a problem with it send it to lrp just like i told you, people do it everyday.

I know this is none of my business, but i have delt with and raced with chedda before. He is a very stand up guy who takes great care of his stuff. I know for a fact that it ran right before he took it out and sold it. What happened when it reached the hands of the consumer is beyond his control.

You can say what you want but the end result is you got my $100 dollars for a bad speed control and I am sure that if I had contacted you the same day it would not have made a difference.. and like I said I have a job and do not have time on a daily basis to work on my cars and sorry 10 days of sitting in my house has never made a good speed control go bad!!

Well since CClay has a trader rating of 69 positives and he saw it run, it sounds like operator error to me.

I saw a guy with more years of experience than you have burn up a GTB and Lipo the other night. He realized it was his mistake and he saw what he did after he inspected it.

Im sorry but a friend saying that something is good means nothing I have friends to plenty of them.. and lets for a second maybe reverse the roles you buy a speed control from me I say its good and my friend said it is good but all you did is solder 3 wires on a motor and and plug in a batter and you have a control that is no good what would you do say uh ok guess since you said it was good it must have been... I think not!!! and you need a reality check because the truth is not slandering by the way you should also use a valid email address for your hobbytalk account since I tried to get up with you that way first..

I Am Not Taking Sides But I Know For Fact That Lrp Speedo's Right Now Are The Most Inconsitant Speedo Out There They Will Be Working Perfectly And Then All Of A Sudden It Just Goes Dead And Wont Work For An Hour And Then You Try It Again And It Will Work Again Like Nothing Ever Happened...

I Have Personally Dealt With Cclay And In My Book He Is Trust Worthy Person If He Said It Worked It Probably Worked.....

I've seen speedos just randomly short out, not taking sides, not saying it was operator error or anything, perhaps some moisture got in it and shorted it when you plugged a battery to it, maybe a sensor went out, I've had that happen, one day it runs like a champ, the next it wont do a darn thing, there's a lot of other possible causes other then a scam

I have known chedda personelly for all my racing years and his stuff is A1....I don't know what happened but I don't beleive he would intentionelly sell anyone something defective...anything electronic is so easily screwed up a person may short it out an not even know it....a few years ago at a FT race I ruined a new LRP, its easily done....I know this don't help u out an I'm sorry for ur loss.... good luck

I have known Jeff and his father for about ten years and you wont find better more honest people. If he toasted the speedo due to an incorrect install he would be bummed but wouldn't blame you,,,his dad would kick his butt. Not taking sides just a character note.

I just had the same thing happen... I pulled a speedo out of my car right after using it with no issues, I sold it and shipped it a day later. The guy who bought it couldn't get it to work. I offered to refund his money but he was going to send it to Tekin for repair. Least I could do is refund any charges he gets hit with from Tekin, plus any shipping.

The failure was nothing I did to it, but when something like that happens, it's only good business sense to fix the problem one way or another. Worse comes to worse, he could have sent it back to me, he gets his money back, and I send it to Tekin for repair, then re-sell it.

Not very honest.

whatever you say bud.

people do it everyday. and i understand things can "happen" and stuff can randomly short out, but he pm'ed me 2 WEEKS AFTER he left me positive feedback.... anything can happen in 2 weeks, who's to say where he had it stored, hell he could've been running it all along and then blew it up. i don't know, nor do i care. like i said before and again, it it would have been the same day he received it/ within a day or so it would all have been a different story.

so thanks for coming:thumbsup:

Thanks Chedda. Good to see ya again. Hope to be able to make it to the banquet to see you all again.

just for the record, he filed a dispute against me, and i escalated it to a claim and typed out my story. either paypal sided with me or he dropped it. just thought i would throw that out there, and again if he would have done everything the day he got it rather then wait 2 weeks i would feel a little more apt to help out.... he could've race it or done anything with it in the time he had it.

a lesson learned here again.when buying used .only buy from your own track area. see it run and be your own judge.this speedo obviously had some undetected issuses.at time of removel .one guy got lucky the other did not.come on guys this is one of the fastist speedos out there. but again notorious for going l for no reason.i would not buy one of these new. save your money and buy a tekin they are holding up and again the fastest out there.gtb is having some issues with the latest model with lipo cut off.if this thing has a supper capacitor unhook it and try it .it could have got popped for some reason happens man .might have popped someboddy under a load .i have done this a time or two.it appears the speedo is bad . but is indead fine.check check check .they do have a internal breaker that resets its selve in time.ref. 60 sec.sorry for your loss dude. let this be a lesson learned.i must say i have had this same thing happen this year. it is like russan rollet. i have had some bad luck but a lot of good as well.i know this does not get the 100.00 bucks back .but it will help in not speedin the money unwisely the next time.i will never buy from the fellow that stung me. he as well blew me off on the deal and was rude. but of course had a bunch of buddies. to back him and cutt me down.it is a no win deal.good racing to you in the future.and good luck
