Apparently this auction started today (Thurs, July 30), I only just heard about it. A very interesting place with a massive collection, I visited there and wandered around all the stuff playing the "what was this used in" game. They have the "Hammerhead" cockpit from "Space Above and Beyond" (although I don't see it listed in their catalog), an actual wind tunnel model of the Douglas Aircraft Company "Pirate" which would have been a Navy single-engined torpedo bomber as heavy as a B-25(!)(also not seen in the catalog), the miniature helicopter with the light up signaling array from "Independence Day" and many many other items. If you are into vintage furniture and such, this will be the event for you!

Harvey Schwartz (who showed me around the place on my visit) owns the place and bought the entire 20th Century Fox prop department, most of Universal and that of Disney to form the basis of this collection. He states in one of the YouTube video interviews that Paramount sent theirs to the dump because "they didn't want anyone else to have it"! Aaaaahhhh!!!!!

Oh well. That is so "Paramount".

Check it out, it is definitely another "end of an era" event.
