I would like to try and paint my first body for the 1/4 scale .I paint(not good)my 1/10 scale cars now.I usually get window mask with my small cars but,do these have them ?I also use a airbrush at times when I dont cuss it.(LOL).I try and just spray out of a can. What is the best paint to use for these type of bodies?Oh and the #s,I seen alot of cars with the #s painted instead of decals, who could I get some material from?Sorry for so many questions.-I just bought my first 1/4 scale car last sat in montgomery and made a few laps with it and ,I am sellin all 1/10 stuff:lol:

Get you some good 3m green masking tape to tape your lines and windows with. about 2 cans per color(4+ for single color) of rattle can. Make sure you wash the body before you scuff and after. Then just spray like the little cars. Be careful if you use a hair dryer to help speed things along, some bodies the lexan is pulled a little thin and the heat and paint drying will deform that area. Get a sign shop to cut some vinyl for your numbers or to make a mask

Eletrical tape will give you nice clean lines after the paint dries

That tape will flex where the paper won't but it will seal off were the other won't I use that for border and paper tape as a fill.in

Kenny, I use Pactra's Racing Finish as well. They make a very good lexan paint. As far as prepping the body, I personally just use wax and grease remover that you can get from any napa store, I havent found it nescesary to scuff the bodies first myself. You can use either the 3m green or blue masking tape for windows and large areas. If you want a two tone or more paint scheme use 3m fine line tape found at your local paint shop, or the cheap way is good old electrical tape! As far as numbers, I can make you the masks for numbers to paint on or make you numbers to go on the outside. I cut all of my own vinyl for stickers/masking on my paint jobs. I have painted a coupld bodies!!! Good luck! Good to see a new face in quarterscales!
