Can we figure out a day so that i can race RC cars with like 75 - 80 people indoors like i was 14 again at scooters hobby hut in niles?

Theres going to be alot of INDOOR tracks it seems all over..

It seems like winter is going to be another Summer for NOrth eastern ohio and such.. Where theres so many outdoor tracks etc no one is able to race at 1.. i guess whatever if each track racs a diff day il pay 10 bucks to race 4wd every single day of the week at a diff track lol :|-`

My rambles of the night hour ^

The point series that they are discussing with a CORR class should help, run at all the indoor tracks in the area. I know what you mean with the watered down attendance, but I am lazy and GUILTY. I live 15 min from Medina.

i just want to i guess.. man just have like 20 trucks 20 2wd 20 4wd etc etc.. just like people everywhere.. a HOBBYSHOP that has the pride in Being more then just a business.. but like A PLACE FOR FAST RACERS to go..

my deal.. i go to 1 track on wens ( vienna have fun hobbies )4 guys in in 4wd i have fun they try...

the other place is 2 minutes from my house.. hobbytown boardman and its cool but everyone stopped going..

then 3 MVRC the issues there.. its like

i want someone WHO CARES ABOUT RACING i mean im not idssing anyone.. i have had some good fun everywhere.. but it isnt like when i was young i guess.. the track owners were dialed.. they races they were fast.. spent every second there.. HOBBYSHOP had every part and thing i needed.. frikken now its like i DAMNIT man.. I expect alot out of people i guess..

I want the owner of the track to be there.. mad fast racers everytime i go there.. people who are like die hard for the hobby.. i know its out there man.. i just hope it can all gather to the same spot every single race day in this upcoming indoor season

Tracks stocking every part are probably gone due to the internet. I try and support my local shop though.

Is there no competition in every class over the winter at Ashtabula??? We will once again have parts an tires in stock and available at the track. I think we have some of the most competitive racers in the area and some find this intimidating. We are all willing to help others out and enjoy the competition. There is no track where there's gonna be 100 guys racing because there are too many tracks just like there are to many classes to chose from. I guess chosing your home track is like chosing the brand of vehicles you run!!!

Part availability should be easier with the CORR class. I agree Ashtabula is a great place to run in the winter time. I made the trip atleast 4 times. If a schedule and point series can be made between all the tracks like what is proposed, turn outs will be awesome. This is an exciting idea to get us thru the drab Ohio winter!!

There are a lot of true statements on this thread, and I think everyone knows why people aren't going to certain tracks. Yes, there's almost too many tracks now and the only way to support all these tracks is to focus on bringing new people into the hobby. As for where the competition is, I think that's obviously Ashtabula.

By the way, CONGRATS TO BRANDON MARSH, he just accepted a sponsorship offer from KYOSHO that includes ORION and AKA.

The few times I ran ARCS I really enjoyed it. Have Fun too. I don't mind driving 1 1/2 hrs if its well run races & the guys are great. The competition is the best around. I prefer the medium to small size tracks. I can see better, the marshall situation is better & plus there is food at both of them. Also, I like to walk over & check lap times without chasing them down.

I should have a RB5 by then, but I most likely won't be racing that weekend since this week is the state fair race and my wallet will need a little break:cry: I will let you know when I will be back at akron to run. Hopefully it will be soon, running 2 wheel there is a lot of fun

I'm new here and have not gotten to race with you yet but I've read thru all of your threads, I cant help but to notice a bit of animosity(sp?) in a few places within them. Thing is, I dont know why people aren't going to certain tracks and as someone wo takes this hobby every bit as serious as I'm sure you guys do, I'd like to be enlightened to the above statement before I start racing. Thank You. Bill:confused::confused:

Well Bill, you see the thing is...We all got into this hobby because it was simply FUN! Smiles, laughter, and the joy of meeting new people who shared the same interest and passion. Its a hobby that either hooks you or doesn't. And the excitement of friendly competition or just an afternoon running with people who "get it" with this hobby was what it was all about! But... somewhere along the way, it got serious... TOO serious??? Along came brushless motors, along came lipo batteries, along came rediculously expensive toys and along with that came SPEED! You see, everyone wants to go FAST! FAST! FAST! Well Bill, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out... ANYONE can go fast!!! YES! ANYONE!!! But... can you drive it? Ahh!!! Here lies the problems with lack of track support. Let me explain. You see, $800 on a kit, $200 on a lipo and $300 on a brushless system... 1/8 scale doing 50 mph! Actually drive the vehicle? WHATS THAT? But... I wanna go fast! So, when you have a track with mostly straightaways to really open it up, its a good track. But, when its a tight, technical track with limited full throttle areas, its a bad track. Ok??? Uhm, I could be wrong, but, beyond the motor and battery, isn't there shocks to set up? chassis set ups? gearing set ups? chassis set ups? tire set ups? tuning options? etc. etc. Its all about the speed you see. Hence why oval is becoming a more and more popular venue. Go fast, turn, go fast, turn, go fast AGAIN! And lets not forget... as I have learned from responses and reading, unless you are fast, you don't belong in this hobby and shouldn't be allowed to post. So much for newcomers and hobby growth huh? So if you just wanna go fast, then yes most tracks I guess you could say suck. But if youre into it for the fun and you "get it", there is nothing wrong with any track. But before you take advice from anyone about if a track sucks or not... ask them to send you a copy of thier latest interview with pictures and sponsors featured in any copy of the many r/c magazines out there. Remember what got you into the hobby in the first place? Your answer is there. Just my opinion.

Oh and its all about winning. 20 years in this hobby, and I can tell you this. I care less what main Im in, care less what place I finished. Just simply finishing a race and STILL be smiling, well... didn't I win? I had fun.

Scott54
08-20-2009, 12:53 PM
Yeah, I agree with SLASH4 on this. Nick, this is what you're looking for. Come out to Classic on Saturday. There's going to be at least two heats of 4wd and we already have almost 30 2wds on board. And there are a LOT of fast guys signed up. Making the A in 2wd is going to be tough, even for the ones that usually win the A's around here. There's actually going to be more "fast" drivers here than most of the regional trophy races. If you can't race, come out and watch!

08-24-2009, 05:41 PM
Well, your wish was granted. Classic had over 120 entries, the fastest from all over Ohio, NY and PA. Hope it happens again someday while I'm still in the hobby because that was flat out awesome.

No doubt on ALL points!!! I have never seen that kind of turnouts for a CLUB race! Well.. we hit 112 entries at Medina in '07 but Saturday topped that!

The CRAZY part was there were about one hundred and ten (110) 1/10 scale electric entries! And as Scott mentioned they were some of the fastest around!

Awesome stuff.

well, its been awhile indeed. i must say i am impressed by my new following and fan club. thank you. i can see i was missed. lol. we gotta clear some things up here. i will include the following info in my new fan club racer packet with your new membership. first, i was never in this to win anything. loyal fan club members who read my posts know this already. they also know, im in it just for the fun. its a hobby. so yeah you may beat me, but i already won before the race started, i actually get why i started in the first place and get what i expect at the end of a race. if i was in it to win and have bragging rights, wouldnt i be at all the races? no, i could come to other tracks and race, but the all too seriousness of it all defeats what the hobby is to me. its a toy guys. and finally, and this one has me confused and laughing. i never once said i was fast or could beat anyone. you came up with that idea all on your own. see what i mean about taking this too serious? you want to race and beat me. but again, i already won, just in it for the fun, but if it will make you feel better i will race you and let you win. do like a five foot full throttle take off at the tone and nail the brakes just to make it official. and you can have your glory. so are we clear now? you serious, must win, calling me out on a self fabricated notion i claimed to be fast. me in it for fun, already won, calling cousin out, he gets it too, just in it for fun. stay tuned for more club member exclusives.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

Title of YOUR thread, "Obtaining the MOST RACERS in 1 DAY at 1 TRACK in NE, Ohio ?"

I don't believe anyone called you out as claiming to be fast. I actually thought you were Nick (later realizing I was wrong). Either way, I think some of the posts that have been on here is because you missed the largest club race I've ever heard of... and it was all electric.
