The cam on my 6 HP Tecumseh OHH60 has brke and when it did it moved the location of the gear on the crank. This is a pressure fit gear and I have it off. Does anyone know how to re-align this gear back onto the crank so that I can time it with the cam. I thought there was a way to put the piston in the TDC location and time it fom there, but I don't know the details.

Thanks AL

if it came off, I would not trust it again, it will more than likely come off again and you will be right back where you started

I would highly suggest getting a new crankshaft

You sure there isnt a keyway in there somewheres? Even if its a press fit, something has to hold it in place from the torque and pressure isnt it. I swore I had one of those apart before and there was a key in it? Cant remamber, but I think from the torque of the engine running, you will need more then pressure to keep it in place! Besides, Im sure there is a way, but without a key how would they time it let alone trust it?
