dragonhead00 07-27-2009, 05:13 AM Walmart finds:
They had several new ones but I opted to get these for now. I did get a couple of the Olds, in case collectors decide to hoard them.

Why in such an U-U-U-UGLY Color. I will buy if I find then straight into the paint shop for a more stock color.
dragonhead00 07-27-2009, 06:37 AM I agree. I always thought MB tried to match the factory colors. I don't remember Olds ever offering neon green. Oh well. I've been waiting so long for it, I just grabbed it and ran.
Snow owl 07-27-2009, 07:31 AM I would have done the same thing. Other than the color it looks real nice.
montegogt 07-27-2009, 08:55 AM That color belongs on a Cuda or Challenger, not a Vista Cruiser.
dipstick 07-27-2009, 10:46 AM yes, very odd color choice but a great casting.......
Lummox 07-27-2009, 11:05 AM Owwie!!!! That thing just poked my eye's out!
been waiting for that car. but that looks hidious. i'll leave it.
see any of the cadillac ambulances or other emergency vehicles?
alex1485 07-27-2009, 11:53 AM remember, if mactch box paints it in a bad color they usually fix it later on (mazda 2) or come out with new colors later too lol
jefferson 07-27-2009, 12:36 PM yep... gonna wait for the next color to come out before scooping that one up.
ranchero 07-27-2009, 02:22 PM Back around the time this Olds was new, there was a common green GM color found on lots of cars - including Vista Cruisers. But it wasn't this shade. Rather, it was a paler lime green metallic, tending to maybe olive. It was seen often on the 2nd generation Firebirds/Camaros and certainly appeared on many Oldsmobiles. I don't remember what that was called but it sure would have looked a lot better than this shade! Were they going for that lime green metallic and just didn't know any better? I agree with others who reject this color.
craftymore 07-27-2009, 03:05 PM Pontiac had a light green that looked like this.

I believe the MB team painted this one green as a tribute to the Mercury Cougar Villager wagon they did back in the 1970s. The color is very close to that.
The wheels kinda give it a 4x4 look but MB is suppose to come up with some smaller wheels for 2010.
Could we get a pic of the Olds wagon liberated? The blister distorts the roofline. Thanks for the pics.
zed300 07-27-2009, 04:32 PM The casting looks GREAT, but I'm not loving the color. I would have preferred the brown that was on the artwork, or white, but this is only the first release, so hopefully a better color will be coming.
blacklee19 07-27-2009, 05:38 PM Man that just destroyed my joy........ hope they don't mess up the upcoming E-350 ambulance!!!
markkaz 07-27-2009, 08:04 PM My daughter will get one for her 'green' collection but I will wait
for another color for mine.

I just finished reading David Tilley's report and that's what he said. It was done as a tribute. It's also supposed to have two dogs in back that actually also hide the rivet post. It's hard to tell by the pics if there are dogs in there.
Fear not though. David also said they will be doing theVista in white, still with the woodgrain sides.
dragonhead00 07-28-2009, 02:14 AM There are two dogs sticking their heads out of the back.

YES YES YES! White with woodgrain is my favorite color combination for station wagons! I will definitely pick up a couple when they come out.
FLOYDFROG 07-28-2009, 03:02 PM That green color on the Vista Cruiser is just awful!!! Even those wheels don't look right on that car. "Swing & a miss!!" :freak:
dragonhead00 07-31-2009, 05:31 PM The disc wheels used on the VW T2 bus would have been better.
69Stang 07-31-2009, 06:55 PM And yep, the dogs are indeed in the back looking out the rear window....it brought back great memories!
alex1485 08-01-2009, 02:16 PM The disc wheels used on the VW T2 bus would have been better.
maybe but I like these wheels too
slythorne 08-04-2009, 12:53 AM It is not that bright of green, brighter than what it should be, still a 1970s looking lime color, but not neon.
vmadmaverick 08-04-2009, 01:01 AM Since it seems no one likes the color on this car, I was hoping that it would be easier for me to find one, since I don't mind it that much. But I'm having no such luck. Oh well, I'll keep looking.
DadsCoronet 08-04-2009, 11:05 AM Too loud for a Vista Cruiser! But I'll probably grab one if I see one. The Routemaster Bus is a must have.
- has the Caddy ambulance been released yet?
- isn't there supposed to be a Dodge Power Wagon (of some sort) coming?
