What is the proper orientation of the plate when installed?

Does the stamped side go toward the carb, or the block and does the stamped side with the angle go up toward the kill switch engine cover or down toward the ground?

It all made sense at first but the more I look and think about it and those 2 little holes now I'm wondering...LOL

Also would adding a plate affect carb. adjustment ?

The stamp goes to carb. The old style block ( carb sets staight on the engine)the stamp goes to the bottom left and the new style (carb is offset on engine) it goes to the kill switch.

A quick note on the plates. Make sure you use the correct gaskets that fits the block you are using on your motor. Wrong gaskets install will make the motor run ill.

For Q.S.A.C. to get these at the price we do, it is used as filler work by the shop that makes them. This price is very very very low for the quality we get.

I am not sure of the shop but there is a chain we have to go thru to get these. We also buy in small quanitys and that means it is a lower priority for the shop that does them. Again this is just a small part of there work.

Mike no problem. It has been great working with you and Tony.I need to also say Brent and Mark.

Now i hope we have learned by.The first couple of orders. That the first, second or third guy to buy plates.Should not get by as many as they want. Then there is none for the rest of the members. Then we get guys selling them for up to $15.00. That is a very good markup.Mike and i don't have that luxury.

If I, Mike Willmann or Qsac said the price was $15.00.There would be world war 3.
If Mike Willmann and I have to sell for a certain price. Then that price should be for everyone.

Mike this is not directed at you.Personally or Because your a co-chair.:)

Just to the greed of some in 1/4 scale. Not sure if i am going make enemies or not.Just pointing out the facts.

Everyone have a good holiday

Man, I should have raised my price. LOL $15.00 for a plate. Thats steap!!!
Well you know it cost money to hall parts around to all the tracks (I know first hand). I would love to see a few more dealers at the tracks. If you are at the track or at home and need a part and can't get one from the MFG. you will pay a few dollors more to get it put in your hand. Mike no problem. It has been great working with you and Tony.I need to also say Brent and Mark.

What do you mean by modified. I didn't think the could be touched, the reason for the anodizing?

If you modify them you are cheating, that is why there anodized very easy to tell if someone has removed any material. Your right Joey

Thanks Fred,MikeClark,Slider And RaceNut53.For the info. That is what i thought.I was under the impression. That there was not to be any thing on the plates BUT QSAC 8.5 or 10.5.So if there is anything else on them. That makes them illegal. If there is how do we know who to trust. When buying them.

Here is the rule:

QSAC 2010 rule book
CARBURETOR (11.22.07)
NOTE: All classes to run an 8.5 or 10.5 Restrictor / Adaptor plate. See class rules for further information. The plates will be mandatory at all QSAC sanctioned events for 2008 and beyond. It is strongly recom-mended that local clubs and tracks adopt this rule as soon as possi-ble. This will make the transition easier for everybody, because some-time during the 2008 season, the supply of our existing blocks will run out and all manufacturers will be forced to ship new cars with the stock Zenoah insulator block PN 1148-13161 and this new plate. QSAC Members and Manufacturers may purchase the plates from Mike Willman for $7.00 plus shipping. Since this is a mandated part, QSAC Members and Manufacturers will pay the same price.

The plates are manufactured by one person, Different people sell them so they can get them closer or at their track.

If this helps.
