Are the castings from the "Motor World" line proprietary?

I get the impression that these castings are NOT GL originals, but rather someone else's that GL just licensed... in fact, these look like static models made perhaps by Auto Art? Maybe High Speed? Maybe Norev?

It appears that GL's only original castings are the American muscle car themed castings.

The Cobra and Viper look pretty low end...

These were orignally Schuco/High Speed tools. They are very well made and built.

If you remember the now defunct, Malibu International Brand that served as Walmart's in house diecast brand, these hail from that stable, Greenlight acquired the US Distribution rights to Schuco/High Speed from Malibu/WM when Malibu folded in 2008.

If the Motor World range is a hit then expect to see more of the tools in TRU.

These models are from High Speed. Some were previously issued also as Malibu Int offerings while the others were only offered in the Classic Car set from the past Readers Digest book promotional from a few years ago. In addition, the back of the new blister cards state " Produced by High Speed Metal & Plastic Productsfg Co Ltd. "
