Yes, but it is independent teams. In fact a PK Carsport Racing Corvette just won the FIA GT1 class and overall at the 24 Hours of Spa last weekend in Francorchamps Belgium.

But for those who did not know, the standard setting Pratt and Miller prepared, Corvette Racing team (The official American team) has indeed retired the GT1 program and will introduce the GT2 cars at Mid Ohio on August 6-8 in the ALMS series.

I know you have had the opportunity to see many historic racers, have you had the chance to see the American GT1's in person? What a beast!!! I will miss them greatly, but look forward to some great racing in the GT2 class!

I went to a Corvette GT-1 Test session at VIR a couple of years ago!!!!

Tell me that was not amazing! Those things just shake the earth! Even more then a cup car.

GM produced a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette GT1 Championship Edition to celebrate their efforts in GT1 and their move to GT2.

Wow....My wife and I love the Gold and Red version of yr 2008 Chevy ZR1 Corvette.....so much that we drove to Conn and NJ looking for the both but at least we found the Dark Blue one by luck it was last one in Walmart Newburgh NY (This was one of many that we brought ...wow!).....Thanks for sharing Mr.SS...and Awesome vettes...:thumbsup:
