MOUNT PLEASANT, Wisconsin (AP) — An iconic Oscar Mayer Wienermobile crashed into a southern Wisconsin home as the driver tried to turn around the giant hot dog on wheels.
The hot dog company's promotional Wienermobile crashed Friday into the deck and garage of a home in Mount Pleasant, about 35 miles south of Milwaukee.:drunk:
The 22-year-old driver was trying to turn the Wienermobile around in the driveway and thought she was moving in reverse, Mount Pleasant Police Chief Tim Zarzecki said. But she instead went forward and hit the home. It sat in the driveway as if it were stuck in the garage Friday afternoon.
Responding officers were not initially told what kind of vehicle was involved.
harristotle 07-19-2009, 07:44 PM Wow... that really sucks. Perhaps they'll get some free hot dogs out of it
alex1485 07-19-2009, 09:38 PM I saw one yesterday! (the plate said "yummy" )
PWSchuh 07-20-2009, 08:03 AM ... thought she was moving in reverse ... But she instead went forward and hit the home.
Am I allowed to make some kind of comment here about women drivers or is that not PC?
Stangfreak 07-20-2009, 04:17 PM What a bummer... No hot dogs now !!!
edseldave 07-21-2009, 02:14 AM I live in Mt Pleasant WI , & this is making national news !! The homeowner was trying to change insurance companies & was supposed to sign up with Geico that day . Of course as soon as Geico found found out about the accident , they dumped them - even though Oscar Meyer is paying for the damages ... Typical of how insurance treats people nowadays ...
The Weinermobile driver was said to be from PA , & had wanted to see Lake Michigan , when they ended up on a dead end street near the lake ... Thats how they ended up in that location . I guess the Weinermobile was in town for a showing at a company event ..
terry9911 07-21-2009, 11:35 AM We had one of the Wienermobiles at our Walmart for the day giving out free whistles and stickers and I asked one of the drivers if they needed a CDL to drive this rig. The kid was pretty young and he said no, just a regular drivers license. I guess its under 26,000 lbs but I think it would be the coolest job in the world.
One of my goals in life is to be able to drive one to a class reunion sometime, but I think I would have a better chance of finding Bigfoot.:o
Lummox 07-21-2009, 11:48 AM I think she was going for the reverse cowgirl and ended up doing the pile-driver.
CJTORINO 07-21-2009, 12:15 PM They thought she was a decent driver.
However, she couldnt cut the mustard.

jage1966 07-22-2009, 11:12 PM Conan had a pretty funny joke on The Tonight Show during his monologue.
I won't repeat it here. See if you can find it online somewhere.
Made me laugh out loud.
