I would like to post that the Gathering of Friends Saturday evening event is over, and we have a new Ambassador.
Congratulations go out to John Nijhuis of the Matchbox Forum on becoming the 5th Matchbox Ambassador. I look forward to reading his reports, and his European slant on things. John is the first non-English [as a first language] speaking Ambassador, and the guys at Mattel are hoping that this will lead to a more in depth look into working with collectors to bringing Matchbox more to International markets. I wish him all the best.
Also many thanks to Terry Ozima for his past year as "Da Ambassador #4". His tenure is now over.
Funny fact - Felix Holst went over To Thailand to collect Terry's Bus direct from the factory to take to the gathering. He left Thailand on Wednesday evening, and half way home realized that he left the Bus behind.

So Terry is now the first official recipient of a "W.O.U." from the guys at Mattel. WOU - We Owe You an Ambassador Bus. It is currently on its way over from Thailand as we speak.

Yep,that was pretty funny. Felix is a hoot,great sense of humor.
Saturday night at the Uptown within walking distance from the hotel, during it's Karaoke session,Felix and Ryu and some of the Matchbox team sang some songs...you can tell Felix has a background in music also ,as he looks quite comfortable singing onstage and has not a bad voice at all...now ,Ryu on the other hand...lol
A good time was had by all
Charley and I showed up for a bit ,but it was too late to register to sing.

We all know Dave Tilley is the real deal and will always be THE Matchbox INFO man!!!!
