alex1485 07-18-2009, 02:02 PM 7 liters of Le Mans winningness!
Lummox 07-18-2009, 05:17 PM Now that's a real race car!....Well, not REAL real, but you know what I mean! :)
That must have been a Dan Gurney car cuz it's gut the "Gurney bubble" on the roof/door.
BEAUTY-FULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
swflyboy 07-19-2009, 12:18 AM 1:24? I thought it was 1:18 because it was so nice.

69Stang 07-20-2009, 09:48 PM It's by an off beat company called ICONS Inc. They are the manufacture for the Wix Collectibles line, which the GT is a part of. I know they have produced several 1:12 casting as well. I have three different 1:24 but I do not know how many others they might have released.
This GT-40 is actually patterned after the 50 1:1 "Continuation GT-40's" that Lee Holman (Holman & Moody) is producing. I belive this is a tribute livery and not a real replica, all I am sure of is a yellow #40 never ran at Le Mans. I can pull a few text and double check, but I think this is a fantasy release.
But who cares...it's freakin' cool!
WL4me 07-21-2009, 12:22 AM just ended auction on ebay...lucky one...

That auction is actually about what I got mine for as well. Honestly it's not a bad price at all considering the detail. I would say it's up there near Franklin Mint, but obviously at a much lower price.

My roommmate here enjoys cars, but isn't that knowledgeable about them. Thanks to this model I've taught him what a Gurney Bump is though

Ward, your knowledge of race cars never ceases to amaze me! I wanted this model simply to represent the GT-40 in my 1/24 collection. It's a beautiful car as a diecast and the real thing. The only other one I have from the Wix line is the Cobra which I posted a couple months back.
69Stang 07-22-2009, 08:17 PM LOL! Thanks bro, but really I need to get a life!!! I spend WAY to much time reading and researching for no other reason then the fun of it!

No problem, I always enjoy reading all of the information you share with us!
I can be that way with my Fords, the problem is reading about the available trim options on a 70 Torino doesn't help me pass Physics :freak:. Perhaps once I'm out of school I can spend the time educating myself on cars that I can't spend now...
