Is this supposed to be based on a real bike? I watched some of CSI Miami the other night and the killer actually road a bike very similar to this. I didn't even know something like that existed.

Saw that one here last week. I don't think I'll be adding it to my collection though

The company is called BRP (the split off of Bombardier Recreation Products from Bombardier) They make seadoo's, skidoo's for snow and water. All their on land vehicles are can am's whether it be an atv or this cycle. They used to make dirt bikes and enduro's back int he 70's and 80's. They also make boats outboards engines (cleanest two stroke ever, even cleaner than some 4 strokes!) and go carts. Their original company builds planes monorails etc.

well, ok, I wish the company didn't call it a "can-am" cause theres only 1 can-am to me... that wild and insane series from the 60s and to 74

Sorta like a really heavy chick...fun, but wouldn't wanna be seen on one.
(I know that's mean and insensitive, but...)

I see a guy on one of these every morning on the way to work...bright yellow like that pic... looks really dork-y!

what's the advantage?...I guess it's more stable and does get the gas mileage of a bike,...but boy does it look dumb..and ya still cant ride it in the winter or the rain without gettin wet!

They are everywhere here in Central Florida and can really burn rubber.

I like the T-Rex better.

They are supposedly a blast to ride. I don't have much of a desire to OWN one, as I would rather have two wheels. I like my 2003 Triumph Speed Triple 955i! However, the thing definately rips.

As far as I know, Can-Am came from Bombardier going back to the original name-sake because people weren't really buying much when it was Bombardier. However, I still dont know if people are buying much under the Can-Am namesake because people are too occupied with tried and tested brands from the major three with shoot offs from sport favorites like KTM. I think they just kind of suck at marketing and development as most things seem too subtle and lacking innovation.

The other benefit for the Spyder is being able to use that power. Motorcycles tend to wheelie, and going too high means you have to back off the throttle before you can start flying again.

The T-Rex IS cooler IMO, but also just as dorky when you see some guy rocking in one of them with all his other buddies on 2 wheels. Also, I think the Can-Am is about 25-30% the price of one.

I don't know, as long as the roads are clear and the temp is 20 degrees or better, I ride my 900. As for rain, that's why they sell rain gear...works like a charm.

Piaggio also makes a scooter with the dual front wheels. Not really my thing, but I suppose when the legs get older, and balancing a bike gets more difficult, it might not be a bad way to go. Of course, a standard trike would look cooler, but I don't think it would handle half as well.
