One of my favorite castings. I've got one in green as well, and it took a few years to find it at a reasonable price. Now I'd like to find a beater to repaint to match the 1:1 1964 I had back in '72. It's been a while since I've looked at mine, but is there a date stamped on the base as to what year this model is?

This was my first real car after getting my license, and I loved it. Great on gas and pretty peppy. Had to get rid of it after it developed electrical problems and the local foreign car repair shop wanted too much to fix it.

Dadv - The oldest dates on MBs were 1969.
This MG 1100 MB # 64 came out in 1966, changed to Superfast wheels in 1970 for it's last year.

Its very hard to criticise this casting because Lesney did a perfect job when designing the tooling. This family of cars, with the same body & A series engines carried MG,Morris,Austin,Wolsey,Riley & Vanden Plas were the no1 best seller in Great Britain for almost 10 years 1962-1971.
Plankowner´s car shows the very common failure of the baseplate behind the rear axle- a structuaral weakness which brought a premature end to many of these including my first example

Vanden Plas
I worked on a customers Vanden Plas MG 1100.
Why the coachbuilder Vanden Plas did an expensive Rolls Royce style interior
on a MG 1100 is baffling, but it was very cool.
The hydro-elastic-bubble-plastic suspesion was a total trip!!!
