Hey Guys,

I know lipo's have been out for some time now which means some guys have discovered tricks or techniques that help get "just a little bit more" out of 'em
(charge rates, discharging, special balancing, refrigerator storage etc.).

Anybody willing to share?

Thanks,
Al

You can warm them up, you can overcharge them, but when you go to tech and it's too hot and it has to much voltage you go back to your pit and watch everybody race.

Yep, exactly right.

BTW, is it even necessary to discharge Lipo batteries? I have always heard NOT to discharge them.

heat makes them fasst..tech makes them stay off the track....not alot of tricks unless you can fool a volt meter and a temp gun...

Not necessary. Only when cycling and never below 6.0 volts on a 2 cell pack. Chargers are set-up for this. Just re-peak after each run or heat. Heat works but is illegal at most tracks. Lipos do not like cold!!! An occasional balance is good for them also. Other than that, no tricks!!! ;)

Thanks for the info. Right now, I do just what you said. I re-peak after each heat and I balance them about once a week or so. Seems to work just fine and I have not noticed any fall off in them.
