fissy fabs 07-17-2009, 07:03 PM CRC made a car like this many years ago called the WFO!Looks like the same car with some red!
WFO had battery slots in rear that went all the way under center shock,AE front end,you also had to drill for servo. Not even close to same car.Great Job CRC!
Outlaw 44 07-18-2009, 08:51 PM does this kit offer the option of offsetting the rear pod?
XXX-Steve 07-20-2009, 04:10 AM I'm thinking about picking one of these up as my first carpet oval car.
37 RACING 07-20-2009, 09:30 PM It looks nice was just refering to the mono ball suspension and the link design!I had a WFO years ago glad to see CRC give oval another try!
fissy fabs 07-24-2009, 07:19 PM Any idea when the Encore shock is coming out?
TENASITY RC 07-25-2009, 01:47 PM I think that was set aside to get these cars into production, but I would think that now the car is out, they should be back on the list soon.
Peeerdy Picture Darryl  So it is out ??? Hmmmm. Well give me a call when ya get a chance.

John
johnnywhopper 07-30-2009, 01:30 PM what class? motor? battery? body? runline of the track?
give us a little more info and we'll get ya dialed right in.
k4mike 07-30-2009, 02:42 PM What suppliers will have the kit? I like to do all my ordering from my LHS if possible. Would love to get my hands on one of these.
Mike
johnnywhopper 07-30-2009, 02:45 PM cars are in stock and your lhs should be able to order them from a number of distributors or from CRC directly as well.
slotracer577 07-30-2009, 06:35 PM running 21.5 2C with a truck body and 17.5 1 c with a C-hd body on the 2nd car. Building two chassis so will leave one set up for 1C and one for 2C. Run line is ~ 100 ft. thanks.
John

slotracer577 09-09-2009, 02:57 PM has anyone else has issues with the adjuster on the losi shock? One of mine is so loose that it will slide if pressure is applied. Looking for alternatives so I junk the losi.
John
dom3669 09-09-2009, 09:25 PM same here on the losi shock, replaced with a tamiya shock.

wait a minute 09-15-2009, 01:08 PM bump:thumbsup:
slotracer577 09-15-2009, 04:17 PM Ended going with the TC4 shock sold by darkside. Put a RPM ball on the end cut to .650 to .600 depending on droop desired. Had to turn a mount for the front, but that was a 5 min job. OD .184, oal .215, with a #32 hole. Gives me more droop than the stock shock, less slop at the mounting points and the adjuster collar works.
Any suggestions on curing a mid corner loose condition on carpet? RC4 less tires, 3 pinks and a black, 2 deg chamber, castor is 2 RF, 4 LF, Red front springs, center shock is 60 wt with a 15 lb spring, sides are black/silver with 40 wt. 1 cell 10.5 and 13.5

You'll be fine Woodsey, just work on that line. As for the car, All those axe's looked pretty damn good!
swtour 09-16-2009, 02:42 AM Saw a battle axe this past weekend - NICE looking ride!!
It was in the hands of Tony "Rusty" Staples, who hasn't been on the rug in almost 2 years - and both showed promise!!
TENASITY RC 09-19-2009, 09:49 PM casper i happen to blow the dust off the car. Ummmmm did u fall asleep with the dremel on high speed ? OMG
casper60 09-19-2009, 10:01 PM lol... no... slot for the single cell up front and I had to cut out part of the lower plate so the damn thing would stop pinching off the sensor wires on my duo's
TENASITY RC 09-20-2009, 12:10 PM damn son i thought the moths must have been feeding on graphit....was there any other lower pods left ? And do you happen to have the red caster blocks. trying to put another car together for woodsy. still have not talked to Frank and still in blaaaa mode.
casper60 09-20-2009, 04:37 PM Oh come on... you make it sound like I hacked the car up...
Everything I had for it was in the bag. I will look around and see if I put anything aside, but I'm pretty sure you have everything I had
TENASITY RC 09-20-2009, 07:40 PM No its not bad... lmk on any other parts that ya might have no big deal...ttyl
Fireball929 09-28-2009, 10:13 PM I guess crc won't be the only one with a mono ball rear end. Custom works is working on one. Looks good. Is Frank still alive in Rome? Haven't heard from him in awhile.

Fireball929 10-08-2009, 06:08 AM nice job slotracer. I need to blow the dust off mine and come out to play soon. I hope the pburgh boys are ready. MAtt you still alive?
slotracer577 10-08-2009, 10:44 AM Working with John Stranahan www.stranahan-rc.com/Catalog_c362441.html to do an offset rear pod. Looks like it will help add some LR weight for the 1 cell classes.

how did you have the front end setup? standard holes? having problem car is tight from center off...
slotracer577 10-08-2009, 07:19 PM Front end was all the way left, so the LF is at its longest and the Rf is at its shortest. Also all the way back to make the wheel base short.
If that still doesnt do it, you can add the long front arm on the LF and/or the risers for higher roll center. Both will give you more steering.
Caster blocks, 5 deg on the LF and 0 on the RF. Shims for Caster LF, 2 behind, one in front, RF 1 behind and 2 in front.
John
dom3669 10-08-2009, 08:19 PM Thanks I'll try it...
Fireball929 10-09-2009, 10:03 PM anyone try the new encore shocks yet?
inman20k 10-12-2009, 12:26 PM just built my new battle axe and I used the new encore shocks on the side, they fit well and are super smooooth. You need to use the long ball end and keep it unscrewed a little to get the piston in the center. Going to the Hooter tour race in ohio this weekend so I will let everyone know how I did.
c barsalow 10-13-2009, 03:35 PM My buddy just got the new car. Looks really sweet. Any setups for a short oval 1c 17.5 I can pass on?
Thanks!
slotracer577 10-13-2009, 04:46 PM You can try my setup for 13.5. I tried 17.5 and it was just slower by about .5 seconds/lap but the setup was pretty much the same. Very difficult to go fast as it is all about momentum and line choice. Miss the ice by 6" and loose .1 sec.
John
Fireball929 10-15-2009, 01:35 AM Inman20 how long are the encore shocks? overall length.
Thanks
inman20k 10-18-2009, 10:13 PM Sorry for the delay spent the last two nights puting the final touches on my Axe and raced yesterday at The Hooter Chassis Outlaw Tour race in Boardman OH. What length would you like to know. It is very similar to any micro shock and uses ball cups on both ends so the posibilites are endless.
Race Report:
Raced 13.5 single with C-HD body, 20 entries in the class, my first pan car race in a year plus, TQ'ed and won in the maiden voyage. The top 8 cars where seperated by less than 2 sec. Car worked very well and was pretty fast right off the truck, made several changes trying different things and trying to see how it worked. One thing I noticed was that the car has a ton of rear grip which was nice b/c it did not require very much wedge and that kept the car freed up nicely. Qualifying was a little tuff in the first round I was dodgung bullets left and right but got in a little tangle and killed the run. Second round went much better and the other racers where very good at moving over and I got in a clean run and set TQ by .1. The main was pretty uneventful The car launched great and I got out to a 30 foot lead and was getting reeled in twards the end but was able to hang on for the win.
I would like to post the set-up but there are a few things I would like to try and do different before I settle on a good baseline set up.
Fireball929 10-19-2009, 06:06 AM I set the length t othe same as my original shocks and seems to be ok. Thanks
Chogue 10-25-2009, 05:59 PM lots of good setup info here but what type of track are you guys running on....runline ect?
thanks
chris
