For all of you that don't know my dad Casey Begin runs R/C Speedway Race Club in Benton, Maine. He took it over from Dave Prescott in 2005ish. It's the last banked oval in Maine. Some of the funds are becoming too short and he may have to close the track. I would not want to see this happen and I am sure there is a few of you diehards out there who wouldn't want to see it either. What would it take to get more people back during the summer? Would racing on Sunday or Racing at a different time on Saturday? It would be nice for you to give some input. I wouldn't want to see the track go down.

Alysha, summer is hard on everyone especially saturday nights. I actually just e-mailed Eben & George to see if they are going this saturday and I am thinking of coming up. I suggested to your dad last time I was there to talk to his aunt and close down for the summer. No rent for 3 months can't hurt when the building was empty when we found it and will be empty if the track has to close down. 9 months rent is better than NO rent. Sunday might be a better option but getting the word out is hard, see how long it took me to find this and answer it. Most of the guys we race with don't go on HobbyTalk. Personally if I was your dad I would give his aunt whatever money was earned from racing for the month and if she doesn't like it we unfortunately walk away. I for one DO appreciate everything your dad has done but he shouldn't have to support the track out of his pocket. Hopefully I'll see you saturday night as long as nothing comes up.
