ok tires are about 50 buck a pop for rim, host and cap so before i run a race i always check the camber by running chalk or a grease pen over the tires then i take 5 to 10 laps to see what wore off then adjust accordinly. but some of the locals take a temp gun and do a inside reading and a outside reading after a bunch of laps and if it more than 10 degrees differnt they adjust. just wondering what everybodys input is. i run a sportman and just bought a sprint. tires seem to be wearin good and the car is handling good. 50 bucks is expensive when youre unemployed. thanks

I do the temp gun thing. I run a 5 to 10 split on right side tires and 0 to 5 on left side tires. Just my 2 cents. Sometimes 15 on right front.:thumbsup:ok tires are about 50 buck a pop for rim, host and cap so before i run a race i always check the camber by running chalk or a grease pen over the tires then i take 5 to 10 laps to see what wore off then adjust accordinly. but some of the locals take a temp gun and do a inside reading and a outside reading after a bunch of laps and if it more than 10 degrees differnt they adjust. just wondering what everybodys input is. i run a sportman and just bought a sprint. tires seem to be wearin good and the car is handling good. 50 bucks is expensive when youre unemployed. thanks

both for me, chalk line gives the quick check but the temp gun will tell you if you are over working a tire after several laps

get a temp gun. they are so cheap and plentiful now. not like when they first came out and were almost $100.00 mine was 85.00 if i wanted the lazer pointer it was between 95.00 and 100.00 . they are cheap now. if you want to get the most out of those tires, a temp gun will help keep them better , longer. Its a great tuning aid. you won't regret it.

I use a temp gun. I think it's the only way to go.

I personally use both. But temp gun will tell you if your over working a certain tire.

I prefer marker for camber. I can't forget a line that is left on the tire, which way adjustment is needed.

Them $27 temp guages work fine, and I think I saw Jeff Davis using one of them. LOL

You mean that the free cars, parts and travel expenses aren't enough?

I think you are just being greedy. You should talk to Jeff, he seems pretty happy with all of his free stuff.

This is Great! Two birds with one stone.

And now that I've thought about, a 20+ year Buster Brown driver ought to be sponsoring me, I've got a lot of overhead. Or maybe J&M Stickers on the car. You two should get together and see what you can do for me.
