Here are a few pics of my build, still some detail to add and lighting but with summer here, good weather slows me down. Walls are mid grey but look blue from the reflection of the floor. Thanks:wave:

Dave Metzner 07-13-2009, 11:47 AM Thanks for posting the pics, it's sure good to see kits being built! Dave moebiusman 07-17-2009, 06:02 PM Looks great ,I am just about to start this kit & I noticed you did not use any waterslide decals. looks hand painted, I think thats the way to go.The stickers are good but I think it takes away from the fun of the build. will you be using a light kit too? Hope to see more pics of your work, great job. Nova Mike 07-18-2009, 07:12 AM Thanks everyone for the kind words, here are a couple more shots. I used just a few of the TSDS decals on the bunk and some control panels where no detail existed ,the rest is hand painted using a straight pin and extra fine tip enamel paint markers available from a local art supply chain. I also added the Crow's Nest figures plus a scratch built console for 'Ski' (he needed something to do instead of standing around):o I lighted the console from underneath so that the decals only show up and added some additional decals mounted on styrene cutouts in the back tunnel, the rest of the lighting will be added after it is mounted on the lower assembly. I will add some shots as I progress. Jiver 07-18-2009, 07:42 AM Very cool so far. Jiver NTRPRZ 07-18-2009, 07:54 AM A very nice paint job, although why did you not sand off the mold lines? Nova Mike 07-18-2009, 06:57 PM A very nice paint job, although why did you not sand off the mold lines? Honest answer, I was lazy,:rolleyes:however I will be removing some lines that are visible through the nose windows and top ring. Since I am not that experienced I tend to want to build things quickly,I have two others that I will spend more time on. My plan is to have a more detailed lighted interior as a open display much like what I did for my Seaview control room. Thanks for your interest. kit-junkie 07-18-2009, 07:03 PM Wow! Very nice! steve123 07-20-2009, 11:53 AM That looks great! you are doing a great job,I still haven't glued my hull together...it's too much fun adding stuff. Steve Tim Nolan 07-20-2009, 05:51 PM Yeh that looks bitchin' so far! I'm gathering parts for mine. If your gluing the hull together, who cares if it's got mold seams on the roofline, nobody's going to see it anyways! The older I get, the more I hate sanding!!! LOL. I can relate! Very nice work so far! Keep us posted as it progresses! Aurorafan 07-21-2009, 07:23 PM Looking great so far, Nova. Tim, did your FS not come with all its parts? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
