Man, I can't say enough good about this masking kit! It's a Godsend! I spent a long time today carefully applying it, and got fantastic results! The incredible fit and application made it too easy, and I wish I would have known about it the "first" time.

Here's the result of my masking and trying to paint it from the inside a while back...

As you can see, I KILLED it bigtime! I have literally masked off hundreds of items over the years for my airbrush work. This is without a doubt the biggest mess I've ever made! LOL!

Here's the result of the Aztec kit:

Lou, I'm looking forward to posting pics of my own Chariot when it's done! Yours was a huge inspiration for me. My hats off to you on the masking design, it fits just great! I would highly recommend anyone to use it on thier build! Would you believe I have lost one of the front bumpers for my chariot? I have been jinxed with this build I think!

Owtch! Don't take this wrong, Tim, but that's a poster child of 'why you should buy this thing', ya know? :) Good product and good build you got going there!

Tim,
why dontcha take it as an opportunity to scratch build new bumpers? the shape is pretty simple. evergreen makes square stock that size and you can use one of the existing ones as a pattern. I've thought they could stand to be a littler beefier, so you could trade up to a heavier stock.

While waiting for a couple replacement parts (the dreaded tires/treads eat into body the way the tires were packaged against the main body and the treads got the front of the body, but hats off to Moebius, I contacted and parts on the way!!) I have been deciding how to tacke the canopy frames and just ordered one of your kits from CultTVMan.

I am assuming it comes with any needed instructions but can you (or any of the users) give me an idea of how difficulut it is to apply or any tips/tricks needed?

No tricks at all. The thing is laid out in the exact shape of the canopy on the sheet. I used a brand new X-acto blade to lift off each piece carefully, then stick the sucker on there! It does come with instructions, carefully printed so any moron can read them! LOL. Decals for Dummies 101! Main thing I can say, TAKE YOUR TIME!! This isn't one of those things you can knock out in 20 minutes if you want good results! Hell, I spent over an hour taping off that first one I shot with 3M, and look how bad it looks! It took me close to 2 hrs. total on this one! It looks sooooooo good though! Have fun!

well, the instructions are pretty clear, but I can tell you that I recommend doing the inside first. and you should make sure that its been well cleaned and free of grease or oils. try not to stretch the orange vinyl when you lay it down. hold it tight, but don't distort it, because it will want to snap back into shape.

when thats all done, you can put an extra coat of protection on by spraying a light coat of Future to seal in the vinyl.

on the outside, you can be rougher with the vinyl because you will be removing it when you are done.

I wad up a bunch of paper towels and stuff the inside of the canopy with it when I'm painting the outside to avoid overspray getting on the inside.

please let me know if you have any more questions, once you get going:wave:
