View Full Version : The ROLLBACK Photo Thread! Let's see em!
69Stang 07-11-2009, 06:59 PM I know everyone and thier brother will be snaping pics of cars on the new MBX Roll back. I though it might be fun to post some in the same thread.
I will start with mine, it's a Shelby casting on the back end, simply because I was looking to make the scale work.
Now let's see those photos gang...whatcha' waiting on?

Yep, I don't know how long it's been out, but I picked mine up at Walmart. Part of the Rig line.
GREAT shots everyone!!!!
Diomakr 07-15-2009, 08:52 AM although these Real Working Rigs are great models- (almost all of them have made it onto my site) they are practically 1/87 scale- so most MB won't look right. here's one with 2 HO vehicles in tow:

Guntownal 07-16-2009, 07:25 PM Nice one Plankowner, very realistic.
They are an odd scale, right between 1/64 & 1/87.
plankowner 07-16-2009, 09:45 PM Thanks! That first picture makes the truck seem small.... or the car seem big..... :freak:
dragonhead00 07-17-2009, 05:21 AM Nice one Plankowner, very realistic.

I believe they were confirmed in an MB report as 1/87 scale.

smilinbob3 07-17-2009, 10:21 AM Heres mine its not finished yet. I used the MB rollback and put the cab of a HW 69 chevy on it. http://api.photoshop.com/home_cede893a1ea54cfca6085aa1ca2ba9b0/adobe-px-assets/e9a709c924da48c9ae883ff59652536b
triple20 07-17-2009, 10:28 AM What scale are the cruiser and firebird?! they fit MINT on the truck! Perfect scale!
Those are 1/87th scale,all plastic,
made in Germany by a company called Busch,
geared toward the model railroading market.
The firebird is a regular issue run, model #41700.
The Indiana State Police dodge monaco model #46670 is from a limited edtion series, "U.S. State Police". I would love to have the whole set of these police cars, could get pricey and difficult to find.
:)
triple20 07-17-2009, 10:54 AM Here's an International rollback made by Boley in Los Angeles, but made in China.
Part # 4012,
1/87th scale,
die cast with plastic.
Shown with Busch model # 46653 Plymouth Fury generic county sherrif k-9.

69Stang 07-17-2009, 06:22 PM Awesome photos gang, I have really enjoyed seeing all the variations out there.
I had intended this to feature the new Working Rigs Rollback, but I have dug the other brands posting in. Keep em' coming!
40Intrepid 07-17-2009, 07:18 PM Wish somebody made a Dodge rollback to put one of my loose Mopars on.
A 50's Job Rated or Pilot House truck would be cool.
Or a 60's version.

Roll backs didn't make the scene until the mid-seventies I believe.
still would be cool to see the in scale form though.
What's a pilot house truck?
Lummox 07-26-2009, 12:32 PM Its not a MB but it is a rolloff, which is what we call them here in Florida.
Never heard "roll-off" before.
In these parts we call them ramp trucks, or hydrallic ramps.
The term prolly comes from these early non-hydrallic models pictured below.
http://media.americantorque.com/photos/2006/12/30/08_53_Hauler_w_coupe_3_-_504x378_1a.jpg
Seems like you rarely see a regular tow/boom truck anymore.
I like the slang term for these...."hooks" (hook truck) as in "The car is comming to the shop on a hook".
jefferson 07-26-2009, 10:24 PM someone said throw a Charger on there so here it is....

I've had it for about 10 years Jefferson. It's not a custom, that's the way in came in the box. It's 1/87 scale (HO scale).
