As I have mentioned in other threads, Novak escs are all designed to work well on 4 cell NiMH/1S lipo. However, racers need the boost circuit for the receiver/servos that were not designed for such low voltage applications. mr_meat68 07-11-2009, 12:55 PM ohp all the way abdule 07-11-2009, 02:10 PM who will build the first speedo so we don't have to add on Boosters? casper60 07-11-2009, 02:16 PM I've used a TQ with zero issues I burned up 2 OHP's before the car ever saw the track I have a Novak in the car I am going to try this week Minkis815 07-11-2009, 03:55 PM Novak is where its at. i hate my TQ. KOZ 07-11-2009, 11:06 PM i have two leftover lipo packs when we were running promod 3 years ago Bill let me know what your conclusion is aftr this weekend with the novak Isnt the ohp one same as tq? I have to agree with Bill on this, I started out in 1c with a nimh receiver pack, upgraded ( I thought ) to one of the boosters and was unhappy with it. I am now using the TP lipo receiver pack. BTW, I charge it the night before racing and not at all on race day and still have plenty of mah left over. jdearhart 07-12-2009, 01:50 PM Kevin, I'd go with the receiver pack also. katf1sh 07-12-2009, 03:30 PM see my 6000 posts aren't all for not! lol Fl Flash 07-12-2009, 10:05 PM see my 6000 posts aren't all for not! lol I heard this story about a blind squirrel and a nut once.........LOL JimmyMack12 07-13-2009, 09:28 AM 15.00 TP lipo rec pack is da bomb..Kat, any idea which of the LHS here in central Florida (if any) carry the Thunder Power pack? $15 sounds a whole lot better than $40 for the Novak SmartBoost. Tommygun43 07-13-2009, 12:10 PM who will build the first speedo so we don't have to add on Boosters? Novak esc's work fine without a booster or rx pack. As a matter of fact, the biggest 1 cell race in the country to date (Maximus 42 cars) was tq'd with a novak esc without rx pack or booster (he burnt up a LRP esc and booster earlier in the day). Track record at my local track is also held by a Novak esc no rx pack or booster. NovakTwo 07-13-2009, 12:27 PM Novak esc's work fine without a booster or rx pack. All escs we have designed in the last 25+ years work on 4 cell(1S lipo) Indoor, 12th scale, 4-cell carpet racing was "big" back then. If your other electronics (servo/receiver) work OK on low voltage, then you don't need a booster. lidebt2 07-13-2009, 12:57 PM All escs we have designed in the last 25+ years work on 4 cell(1S lipo) Indoor, 12th scale, 4-cell carpet racing was "big" back then.
