Hi Guys Your tips and custom cars are great. I was wondering if anyone would know how to remove flat black testers paint off of Tjet chrome grills. I have a GTO and 68 charger with blacked out grills. Thanks for any or all ideas.

Hard to know whats what... but first off...are they attached?
You have to be patient, extremely patient!
The trick is to NEVER handle the chrome tips or edges. Most flat black can be softened with mineral spirits by repetive soaks/applications; and carefully worked off with a small soft artists brush. This can be done on the body too, but it's obviously more cumbersome.
I lightly daub the loosened "grungous" off with a Q-tip ...go back and re-read! LIGHTLY DAUB! The old plating can be as delicate as a moths wings. It only takes one loss of concentration or frustration to wipe off what your trying to save. So stay cool! Keep in mind that it may take more than one application or session to get it done AND you may still not get it all out of the depths.
There are no guarantees. Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose. Good luck!

If you screw up the grill work, you can always apply some Bare Metal Foil to give it that chrome look. Grilles are usually easier to work with compared to bumpers. Good luck and take your time!:thumbsup: rr
