Hi Guys!

I have a business trip to Chicago 7/14-7/16 and I am staying in the Tinley Park area.

Any good slotcar or N scale train shops close around that area?

Just looking for something to do to pass the time in the evenings while there.

Thanks for any help you can provide :thumbsup:

I don't know about hobby shops but there is a great steak house called Bogart's Charhouse there. One of the best T-bones I've ever had.

Wow!

I will have to check that out.

We will need some places to go for dinner.....

So no one on the boards lives around that area of knows of any shops?

Thanks!

Downers Grove is 20-25 miles northwest of Tinley Park. There is another place in Montgomery that is about 40 miles west. See link below.

Hey Wayne ,
if your planning to be around by stretching out a day or so ... parklane hobby shop in Dyer IN ( 20 min away ) has friday eve racing and they have alot of trains stuff including N gauge. ofcoures they are open during the week and the track is up an running so you could pop in then too . The shop in Montgomery is a 1 /24 and 1 /32 race shop only. Oak Ridge in Downers grove does alot of online sales but less in shop . that said it's still a decent store as well.

Bogart's is now Casablanca's Steakhouse,17344 S. Oak Park Ave. 708-781-9479 enjoy. There are no more hobby shops in Tinley Park anymore. You could try Pat's hobbies@5730 W. 95th street,Oak Lawn. 708-424-6131. Golden Spike Train shop, call first 708-598-3114 don't know if there still in bizz?? For a shop with tracks 1/24-HO you could try the NEW C&R RACEWAY in Bradley,ILL. 60915, about 30minutes, 231 east Broadway.Phone#815-933-7223, can't beat $10 all day rental cars & controller. Hope this helps. There are a lot of home tracks in the area but most are covered waiting for the season to start in the fall.
