Pat, Cody had a 38 4:01 in the 4th heat. I think they had him at 38 4:02 on the lineup. I don't know which you used.

I got him for the correct one. 38 4:01.341 in the 4th heat. Nice runs by the way! I predict 39 for you guys this weekend if the weather is ok.

Yea, lucky for me I can usually put at least 1 run together. It's normally in qualifying, not the main though. LOL

Points after race 3. Keep in mind that the overall points are determined by best 2 out of the 4 races. The points totals on the sheet now reflect your best 2 performances. As always PLEASE double check my work and make sure I credited you with the correct finishing position and qualifying time.

Very interesting points chase coming down to the final race at the Tri-Clone. The top 4 are very very close. Also, someone who runs well at the tri-clone but can't get out of his own way down in Iowa (ME) will be right in it for an interesting 5 way race.

Congrats to Cody on the whoopin he laid on us at Marshalltown!

So question... is it going to be just best 2 or best triclone and best 'other' track? Seems to be a little skewed toward the triclone regulars if it's best 2 and there are 2 triclone races.

I'm not the rules maker, only the points keeper, but I'll try to address it.

I can see the argument both ways. Between either best 2 of 4 or best 3 of 4. I don't think it is actually skewed one way or the other as it stands. If you look at the points at the moment and count all 3 races instead of best 2 the top 2 racers remain the same. The only appreciable difference is that it puts you and Cody tied for third almost the exact same amount behind that you currently are.

The only person who really stands to benefit from the way it is now is me. If you look at the results you will see several Iowa racers who will also benefit greatly by not having to count a result at Tri-Clone.

If Corey, Kevin and Cody had stunk at both IA tracks and you had run consistently well everywhere (as you have) then yes I'd say you'd be getting screwed. But it appears that the same guys run well everywhere, so it seems fairly fair. Aside from the benefit I will get and a couple of IA regulars will get.

Personally I would have been in favor of best 3 out of 4 prior to the start of the series, but as it has turned out it really doesn't matter much to the points. I think having the best 2 of 4 rule helps encourage the participation of the guys who don't have the $$$, time or interest to travel. I think all 3 tracks need as much participation as we can muster these days.

Mike Clement brought to my attention that I accidently didn't average in everybody's lap times to get the full field average at each race. Consequently the points changed slightly for everyone at every race. Overall the top 4 don't change and the point spread remains about the same for everyone. Further on down the list some people may have changed places I didn't fully compare.

Hey guys sorry I didn't post these sooner. Nothing really changed with the top overall positions after the finals due somewhat lower turnout at that race.

Any mistakes let me know. There is a decent chance I made a few.

I think it was an interesting and fair way to do it. Everyone finished about where they deserved to be. Nice finish for you for 2 1/2 races also!!
