what does a kit run for a losi 8? Thanks

I have an e max (original) with a substandard input shaft, ie the friction pins that are stock can't take the power of a 5.5 motor. There are no aftermarket upgrades to a later version input shaft that uses a pin instead of the hex shaft to lock onto the slipper shoes of a heavy duty slipper. Do you have any suggestions, is it possible to mfg. a new stile shaft that will work on the original transmission?
