I found some new Cars cars over the weekend, including the Saluting Sarge chase and the Ferrari F430 chase (which I didn't buy - chase packages, really??), and noticed something - they're in the new packaging meant for the moving eyes cars, which are more expensive! So if you want the chase cars, you'll have to pay a little extra to get 'em. Pretty sneaky Mattel!!

I've got (Sportflics) baseball cards from the 80's that do the same thing. Depending on which way you tilt the card, 1 of 3 pictures will appear on it.

Collecting Pixar Cars with my kids used to be fun. Now, Mattel has ruined it with impossible to find exclusives (I'd rather mow the lawn than drive 25 miles to hang around in K-Mart for them to tell me that particular store is not participating in the event), packages with 1 new car and 2 or 3 older ones, the new eyes (still don't get this one), and other greedy tactics. The last one I bought was Elvis and could only find one of them so it sits on a shelf until I find another for my other kid. I wish Mattel would take their diecast domination somewhere else.

I agree, I've got most of them; but simply gave up after awhile. It's ridiculous to shell out the cash for the same casting that simply has bumper stickers on it.
I don't really buy into the new moving eyes thingy. I think it has driven most away, instead of pulling people in.
I've been really blown away by the lack of customer service Matty has provided.
