Mel, check out the TOUR thread on here, rules are on the frist page.

here is the link http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=262829

Pretty straight forward, I believe 1 cell, 25c, I have one you can use it you need it,
tires are the world gt spec tires.

Tour rules for truck are world GT tires (purple ring), 17.5 1 cell, 25C smc battery, Truck body. Seems to be about .5 sec slower at our track (125ft RL) than the 13.5's.

It can be any WGT tire, doesn't have to be purple ring.

TOUR rules state:
• World GT Tires were selected as the spec tire for this class for several reasons:
o They are readily available due to their wide acceptance in the on-road racing community and have proven to be a very well regulated, cost effective, solution.
o These tires are NOT available to team drivers through sponsorships. All sales of these tires go through hobby shops.
o All 4 tires are all made of the same, very durable compound and are priced below standard tires.
o World GT Tires are to meet the following specifications:
• Tire and wheel must meet 10th scale specifications
• Tire compound to be Japanese R4 compound, 38 shore
• Tire must have an identifier ring of purple colored foam in the center of the tire
o There is no “approval process” for World GT tires. Any tire meeting the above criteria will be considered legal.

The oval masters only allowed the purple ring tires.

Hello racers. Entries are now open and we had our first 10 on-line in just a few minutes... the race is coming along nice. Can't wait for sure!!! Make sure to check our race site daily as something new is posted for the race each day:

www.snowbirdnationals.com (http://www.snowbirdnationals.com)

As far as the expo class. Each year we add something fun and different. Touring trucks, Sprint cars, SKs, VTA, F1, legends, etc. The TOUR Sportsman truck class is a class not even in Florida yet and is great 'concept' class that is starting to take shape Nationwide. Allan and the TOUR are helping with the rules of the class, and will be setting up some guidelines for it for us to follow. Look for a simple flyer this weekend. It is intended for the 'sportsman' racer, not the sponsored or racers usually found in victory lane at big events. And yes there will be a 'speedo' rule for this one class.

Thanks everyone... cya soon!
Mike

Would like to know what the speedo rule is before I sign up as my 17.5 truck already has a Tekin RS in it. Not going to get an old novak just for this one race. Would be happy to run a spec software version or one of the older software versions if needed.

There were no problems with this class at the Oval Masters with any ESC's. There were Tekins, SPX, Sphere, GTB's... I think what Mike may be referring to is the Mamba and the AE units. That would actually bring the speeds to faster than beginner levels. I ran a sphere 07 and won the oval masters with it. It's a great class, and for all you guys that are newer to oval racing this class and 13.5 would be two great classes to run at the birds... that's what I'll be running.

Mike,

I noticed that the Sticky Fingers is the official traction compound of the Snowbirds but does that mean it is the only traction compound allowed?

RCThunder
12-02-2009, 04:27 PM
Yes it will be the only one allowed... We ran it at Minnreg last weekend with 140+ cars in road and oval with very good results. Racers found it is very similiar to Jack but with grip and less buildup. I am confident in it for sure. We will have plenty at the race and are working on possibly handing it out to the racers at check-in too! If anyone would like some mailed to you now, I have several bottles in stock at a great price.... email me at rcthunder@aol.com.

The Tour trucks will have a race flyer up maybe Friday with class details. The 2S class is NASTrucks and the 1S is Tour Sportsman Trucks... just to keep them seperate. Already a few in both signed up, which is great.

Bryan,

My Guess...if it's an open rule - THUNDERPOWER 5000 mAh 40c, but those are a lot heavier than the 3400 packs you are use too!!! ;)

See thats my question is the extra weight worth the better battery but my car is about 36.5 oz with a 3400 so I have to add weight any way and was hopping someone that runs the class could let me know

swtour
12-04-2009, 03:24 AM
LOL I was hoping someone would too Bryan, but they are all so focused on 1s, good luck...

Call Jim at THUNDERPOWER and see what he thinks. (I've always thought the LIGHTER battery would be the way to go ie: 3200 40c) but I've heard people debate that...

But THEY are only running 4 minutes I believe...and I know you are a weight guy!

12-04-2009, 04:43 AM
I posted on your other thread, but go with the TP 5000 40C. You will be down on power due to voltage curve with the 3400. Loose weigh on other parts of the car...

SW, down here in rainy fla, we have never run an open battery 21.5 truck class, the locals run a 21.5 3200 mah truck class. So they don't have any info to share.

I ran the 5000 most of weekend in mine then decided to try the 3200. I think the 3200 would have ran better then the 5000 if I would have changed the set up a little. atleast with the 3200 I could add weight where I wanted it
