View Full Version : 2010 Snowbird Nationals J-Dub Racing 10-13-2009, 10:44 AM Can't be any worse then Meri-Death...LOL casper60 10-13-2009, 10:47 AM lmao.... WLMaye 10-13-2009, 11:18 AM Morning racers. Just a few notes. First off, I am very excited to support the TOUR and have their championship classes as part of the Snowbirds!!! I had a LOT of emails asking to run 21.5 car (from around the whole USA) so definitely want to offer it this year. The trucks are a good class in Florida and some other parts, and we had 3 cool truck classes last year, so had to have one again for sure! The reason to going open LiPo is that there are so many batteries out there that need a place to race I figured give them a class to run them. I talked to a few locals they are cool with opening it up (plus some race touring etc and it allows the same stuff). I am very excited to have 12th scale and SK being part of the show again they are such great fun and provide great racing. We have a little bit of everything it seems. I thought hard about the 17.5 1S class but was worried since we don't have any down here yet it would be a very light crowd is all. Hope there is something for everyone... so far things are progressing amazing. Thanks everyone and looking forward to year 16!!! Hey Mike, totally understand. Maybe next year if it gets going good. Look forward to January. Bill spider004 10-13-2009, 11:35 AM I've got almost all the stuff to run truck class but in several different vehicles. Guess I will put them together in truck and make trip down to get my butt whooped! And tear some stuff up and for sure will piss someone off along the way. James Mike D. 10-13-2009, 11:36 AM Yea, but where is the fun if you can't piss everyone off during the course of a week? When they get mad, just remind them it's toy car racing, not Daytona... LOL lol... i think alot of guys take it alittle more serious than i do, if i ran open mode the winner would be the one who finished racin with me....lol casper60 10-13-2009, 12:02 PM Survival of the fittest... works for me... lol Mike D. 10-13-2009, 12:12 PM I've got almost all the stuff to run truck class but in several different vehicles. Guess I will put them together in truck and make trip down to get my butt whooped! And tear some stuff up and for sure will piss someone off along the way. James got your back if you got mine.....lol spider004 10-13-2009, 12:42 PM Inferno- I got ya! I know I will have a blast at my first bird race and to me that's all it's about! Mike D. 10-13-2009, 12:45 PM Usually they do not have sportsman style classes at national events. But if you were to pick a class, the slowest ones will be 13.5 COT, or 13.5 SK's thats 13.5 1 cell??? right? Scarecrow One 10-13-2009, 01:34 PM Yes 13.5 is 1 cell Mike D. 10-13-2009, 01:39 PM ok, thats what ill be crashin!!lol casper60 10-13-2009, 02:00 PM I am officially out of 13.5 cot :p RC Extreme 10-13-2009, 02:15 PM This will be my first time going to snowbird or racing carpet oval being out of Texas. I'm trying to get my things together and be ready for that. Could you guys help me out on what I need to be prepared for. I don't see details on their website just touring class has handout motor and tires not oval? Do I need to buy some bsr tires or they hand it out there? Motor we run our own motor? Class I should run in? 13.5 1 cell meaning 4000mah and 40c max? 10.5 same as above any difference in speedwise? What class in your opinion is the most popular? I'm going to run RC10L4 oval. MikeNum8 10-13-2009, 02:18 PM Well 13.5 1 cell is with the COT body. 10.5 1 cell is faster. as for tires u can run what you want as far as manufacturer. BSR is a great tire and that's what i would recomend. Motors are according to the TOUR rules. Check out the TOUR thread and on first page is rules. That will tell you what you need to know. matt_s86 10-13-2009, 02:44 PM RC Extreme- 13.5, 10.5, and 7.5 1 cell are all TOUR classes. You can find the TOUR rules at the following link: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showpost.php?p=2939151&postcount=1 Mike D. 10-13-2009, 03:11 PM I am officially out of 13.5 cot :p lol...i dont blame ya! captain11 10-13-2009, 03:11 PM Dude wattaya mean meri-death. Open season on the speed control. John Grenade10 10-14-2009, 04:16 PM Any roar approved 13.5 motor is legal. Open season on the speed control. John You planning on going this year? I had a blast last year, just not sure I can fund this just yet. Would also like to do the Nitro Winter Nationals. Snowbirds .... 1 week vacation, I mean work ..... Winter Nationals. To bad business is not like last year. See You Saturday Night!! Mike D. 10-14-2009, 09:46 PM NITRO WINTER NATIONALS.........HMMMMMMM, when is that, now were talkin!! slotracer577 10-15-2009, 10:20 AM Planning on going and bringing my nephew if he behaves. Will be running 13.5 and 10.5. John spider004 10-15-2009, 02:07 PM Is the 21.5 2 cell lipo nastruck going to be about as fast as 13.5 4 cell? Or if not what is it close too and what kind of lap times we talkin? Thanks. James slotracer577 10-15-2009, 02:11 PM yes, should be close in speed. 10.5 1 cell is about the same as well. John J-Dub Racing 10-15-2009, 02:22 PM Yep, the 21.5 trucks should be a tick slower than the cars based on the body. But like Slotracer said they are close. I expect the 10.5 1C, 21.5 cars, and 21.5 trucks to be within a lap if everyone gets clean runs. spider004 10-15-2009, 02:25 PM So somewhere around 60 laps 4 sec laps give or take? J-Dub Racing 10-15-2009, 03:53 PM Yeah, I would think 3.9's to 4.1's. Somewhere in that area. spider004 10-15-2009, 04:05 PM Thanks for the info JimmyMack12 10-15-2009, 09:47 PM Class roll call! Post which class(es) you'll be runnin' and where yer haulin' from...! Jimmy McKinley 13.5/1s/CoT Clermont, FL - 5 minutes from the Radisson! Any other advice for us guys making first trip would be great.Take some time away from the track ;) Don't get all burned out by being at the track every day, all week, all the time. Last year was my first 'Birds racing, and I thought I would be all excited by being at the biggest race *in the world*. By Thursday, I was *TIRED*....LOL... The practice/race schedule looks like it'll work for me, with the oval stuff being in the afternoons/evenings, so I don't have to take all week off for vacation ;) I can still work during the week and still make it to the track for practice/racing (with the exception of Saturday/Sunday). I'll be THERE! ;) spider004 10-16-2009, 06:43 AM If I wanted to run Nastruck and 13.5 1cell COT how tough would it be or should I just run 1 class? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2013, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
