The Radisson has added some new renovations and is simply a great place to race. Also getting great emails and interest from around the world from new and old Snowbird race fans coming this year. Looking forward to another great race week!!! Much more to come!

jason crist 08-04-2009, 10:31 PM Mike
we are putting a carpet track back in iNDY
and looking at snowbird size for
on-road and oval
what size on average has the snowbirds track been ?
Thanks
Jason
RCThunder 08-04-2009, 11:08 PM Hey Jason.. sorry meant to respond on FB... just forgot.
We build the track area 92x40. Oval has 14 foot ice leaving rest for straights, and about 12-14 foot of lane in the corners, which should give you the overall infield size. Road is basically 8-10 foot lanes througout with the main straight on the back. Hope this makes sense haha.
Great to hear about a new track - good luck!!!
Scarecrow One 08-05-2009, 01:35 PM 96'x40'
jason crist 08-05-2009, 03:04 PM Thanks mike and scarecrow
anything close will work
the guys putting it in wanted an idea
thanks will fill you in later on progress
maybe a snowbirds warm up
and get you guys back up here again
like 6-7 years ago at Hobbytown
RCThunder 08-05-2009, 03:33 PM Sounds like fun - hope it works out that area will love oval again I hope. Yes Kenny you are right... eerrrrrrrr haha we had 92x40 with the pit road - no pit road in the straight is 96x40..
onefastdude 08-06-2009, 06:29 AM Was that the last yeat at Thunder? If so I was there with the worlds Quickest Quaker (Eli).

Rooms and Flights booked, First snowbirds for Dan Ostrander and myself, cant wait!
Can anyone tell me if there are restictions on what RC related items can/cant be taken on airplane flights? Also , does the hotel accept ups deliverys for snowbirds participants and is that how most racers who fly get their stuff there?
Allan A 09-11-2009, 08:34 AM Dale I know that last year the hotel accepted delivery of racers packages.
I know Humpty flew into the Ovalmasters last year with quite a bit of his racing gear in his carry on.
Larry B 09-11-2009, 10:14 AM Dale, I flew down to the birds last year. I shipped my gear via UPS. It cost 38.00 for 70 lbs of equipment each way from Richmond, VA.. UPS also did the return package info for me. The hotel did receive it, and all I had to do was drop it off at the front desk the day I checked out for UPS pickup. I should have sent more via UPS. Airlines only allow one carry on bad, the extra checked bag of equipment on the plane cost me 35.00 each way and if the bag was over 50 lbs it would have cost more. Best way, find a friend that may be driving and has room to take your equipment. Offer to pay part on the gas bill, even if you have to drive some to meet them.

Dale,
Parisano, Marabella, McMinn and I all take our stuff on the plane. We fly Southwest out of Philly because they allow 2 bags for free. We take our cars, radio and batteries in a carry-on and the rest goes underneath. Try to share as much as you can with Dan....no need for two big power-supplies etc. Remember that you can buy chemicals there so we leave the traction compound motor spray etc at home. We rent a big car or van when we are there to transport us and our stuff from the airport to the Hotel.
Scarecrow One 09-21-2009, 01:56 PM 'Remember that you can buy chemicals there."
Yep!! all the BOOZE you want, but you got to get to the bar before BEHLER.:)
I also remember Marabella flying in one year ala Tony Stewart Airways

That UPS package was that one box @ 70lbs.
Larry B 09-21-2009, 07:34 PM That UPS package was that one box @ 70lbs.
It was a Stanly box on wheels. Not the largest one but the next largest one.
You may have seen it when I come to Greeneville.
Hope to get down there 10/10.
HitmanIII 09-22-2009, 02:13 PM Thanks, Hope you can make it down............Thinking about how to get my stuff down there This helps
