A recent thread asked for an Impala series. Well think about how different a series of Galaxies would be to include the square 59s, the radical 60, the gorgeous 61, very similiar 62 and on and on. Do a Galaxie series PLEASE:tongue:

I would love to see a Galaxie series. I would most like to see a 62, 67, 68, 71 and 74.

don't forget the 69-70 XL sportsroof and convertibles. Really sharp looking cars and worthy of GL doing a casting of.

I agree too !! Between all the 'other' brands over the years , most Chevys have been done from the mid 50's through the early 70's .. Barely any Galaxies though ......

Think about this GL;
1959 Galaxie Hardtop, convert and retrac. Wouldn't a 1:64 with a hardtop that actually stores in the trunk be a gas!
1960 Starliner and convert!
1961 Starliner,(best looking 60's Ford made) boxtop and convert
1962 hardtop, convert(first ever XL model) and the Starlift removable hardtop(a rare and first for the model industry
1963 Boxtop, fastback and convert, and how about a lightweight model with the reverse hood scoop and painted bumpers
1964 Fastback and convert
1965, 1966 oh yeah way to go GL
1967 fastback and convert, no one has done this save in a slot car
1968 fastbackand convert with that amazing looking hidden headlight grille and the GT model

Shoot we could start a whole new company called FL (Ford Light) just for Galaxies.:p:tongue::o

Ya, those and the Marauder of the same years would be my favorite choice.

Ertl did a fairly good job on the '60 Starliner.

I have 2 60 Starliners, one black and one light blue but no manufacturers name on them. Plastic bases and maybe bodies too.

Greenlight is releasing two new Galaxies in the Muscle Car Garage. They are the 65 and 66 models, and although the only thing different about the 66 is that it doesn't have skinnies on the front, the 65 is now a hardtop. They both look awesome, and I'll need to be sure to pick up an extra 65 for my pa, as it looks so much like his.

Check out these links at Milezones:

I would LOVE to see this. I can't find enough Fords. I grew up riding in them. Among the many other year models he had, my dad had a 59, 61 and 62 none of which are represented in the die-cast world.

JL has done the '61 Galaxie Ken. Granted it's 10+ years old now.

JL calls it a Galaxie but it is really a Fairlane. :( They made some monumental errors back then. They have an American Blue Kissimmee police car pictured on the card as a 66 Galaxie but the model is actually the smaller 66 Fairlane.:freak:

The 61 Galaxie 4 door sedan had the squareback Galaxie roof.

I would have to buy both a Green Machine and a regular version, if they did a 1961 4 door Galaxie.
I had one in my final year of High School (1975).
A ex-Chicago Police car, black, with a 352 Police Intercepter engine, manual 3 speed tree shifter, with overdrive.
That car was fast, and got up to top speed pretty fast.
Too bad it couldn't stop as fast.
I almost took out the High School cheerleader when she didn't go through the light.
Missed hitting her by a half inch!:freak:

George

I must say, before I was not a huge fan of the Galaxie. Being younger and not reall seeing many as I was growing p may have contributed to this, but seeing the GL's and some of you guys customs etc I coming along. I have 3 now and Love each one and would love to see more :)
