It was good to see Sam Presnell making his first trip to LPR this past weekend for the GASCAR race #3. It didn't take him long to figure out the slippery slopes. He had some bad luck in the main, but hope you come back next month and race again, Sam. Thanks to all the racers who ran in the race: Roger Douglas, Kevin Andrews, Scott Harper, Sam Presnell and Tim Smith. Kevin broke his old track record at LPR of 5.1 seconds with a new lap of 4.895. This is the first "Sub-Five Second Lap" ever turned at LPR. Roger also turned in a 4.905 lap. I think Sam turn in a lap in the 4.9s and Scott turned in some 5.0 laps. Tim's best lap was a 5.1. This is amazing at how close these drivers get going that fast. Thanks again, Guys. Hope to see you all next month at LPR for GASCAR race #4.

LPR is a nice facility and a fun and very challenging track. I think the whole trip was worth the racing I had with Kevin at the end of the third heat. In the main I managed to hit the end of the curb in the infield of turn 1, which caught on my rear pod and broke my bottom plate, and completely sheared off both legs of my STEEL T-plate, which I guess turned it into an I-plate. Needless to say I couldn't get that fixed and get back out. We had already basically packed up for our long trip home before the race started, so we headed on out when I broke. I'll probably head back in August, it was a fun trip overall. I just wish it had started at 12, and we had run our main before the 1/4 scale mains. I had fun racing with and seeing everyone. From the looks of the points I'll have to get on a tear to win the championship still, but I'm not giving up, I came back from behind to win my first .09 championship.

Glad you had a great time. LPR is a great place and very challenging to say the least.

Starting at 12:00 would have not been good for me, it was not until after that I found the problem with my car. But ya got to admit, it is fun under the lights.
