Looks like they may have been done with a sawsall or rusty knife. I wonder what major scratches might look like?

The little surface scratches must have been from pulling them out of the mud and dirt that they were buried in! Even my old cars don't have that much dust or whatever that is. He must have left them outside?

Funny...that remeinds me of when I went with my dad when he was looking for a new car. We were at a Chev dealer and checking out some used cars and one had a huge gouge on the trunk lid (through several layers). The salesman casually says "Oh ya, we can buff that out". More like total repaint. In the end my dad went for a new Caprice.
