View Full Version : First Time At Easley!!
herman36 06-28-2009, 01:40 PM I made my first trip to the Carolnia R/C Complex yesterday (6-27-09) at the Outlaw 250. Spoke to alot of people racing there and was very impressed with what i saw. It was the first time i had been to a race with that many gascars. I had been kicking around the idea of getting an .09 car and getting back into it. After being there and hearing the sound of those things going around the track, and the smell of the exhaust, it but me over the edge. I now know that i will be getting one and will be seeing yall soon. Hope to find alot of help out there for a ROOKIE. Thanks MitchR of Mobile Hobbies for taking the time to answer my questions. See ya soon.
Benjie Wright 06-29-2009, 04:45 PM Hurry up and get one man-I need someone new to hit, it gets boring hitting the same guys over and over.

herman36 06-29-2009, 09:34 PM not looking to make any enimies just yet. Never know when i may need help.
ScottH 06-29-2009, 09:42 PM There are a few things you need to know about GASCAR racing.
1) We make NOISE when we race. (Batteries are for toys, FUEL is for RACING) ;)
2) There is no better group of racers that will help a fellow racer out to get him into the show.
3) Benji's typing is faster than his car.
4) There is no whining/crying in GASCAR.
5) There are no enemies either.
Herman be sure you get yourself a .15 as well. They are a blast and not near as mush the trouble as some would have you believe. Buy the engine, call Tower get you a muffler and bolt her in. No modifications needed at all.
Glad to have you in the GASCAR group!
herman36 06-29-2009, 09:46 PM Thanks ScottH looking forward to it. but think i'll get the hang of the .09's first
COYOTE 06-30-2009, 02:22 AM Welcome to GASCAR and nitro oval racing, Herman. Its always good to have new racers on board. if you need any help at all, feel free to contact me, either on this forum or the GASCAR website at gascarnitroracing.com.
Tim Smith, Team Coyote
Sam32 07-02-2009, 12:05 AM Herman, any questions you have at all about your .09 come ask me or Pop. I think you already met Pop (aka Jim) this weekend. I think it is great that you are getting into nitro, and I think it is wise to start with an .09 because it will ease an already steep learing curve coming from electric. Hope to see you at the track with a car soon!
Sam

Sam32 07-14-2009, 12:22 AM That sounds great Herman. When do you expect to hit the track? I doubt I will be able to make it back to Easley until the Mason Dixon race, but if you get to the track before then and have any questions hit me up, we'll help the best we can.
