View Full Version : WDRA Summer Nationals
KirtC 06-27-2009, 04:15 PM Yes, the Biggest, Fastest, Baddest Outdoor Dirt R/C Race in the World is coming to town!
July 10-12 at Master Hobbies Speedway
See the attached flier for details
http://www.dirtoval.com/forums/images/smilies/greenflag.gif**New Lower Prices**
We heard you guys loud and clear. No longer is the cost of the event shirt built into the price of the first car's entry, but rather will be sold separately. Now you can enter two cars for the previous price of one with the new price $20 for the first entry and $15 for the second and subsequent entries.http://www.dirtoval.com/forums/images/smilies/greenflag.gif
Improvements that will be made prior to this years event from last fall include:
New Parking lot (over an acre beyond turns 1 & 2)
Plenty of room for campers!
Improve rumble strips in the turns
Scoring and Tech moved to Turns 3 & 4
And much-much more
Anyone that participated in last years Small Block Nationals can attest to how fast and fun this wide, sweeping track is to race.
This years format returns us to our 'Rupert' roots, with all events running in the day on the weekend, heats seeded by the best of two full lap time trials, three rounds of heats, resorted after round two, dashes, and I'm sure a plethora of door prizes from all the Associate Sponsors!!
Oh, and don't forget to purchase your raffle ticket from our Title Sponsor, Putnam Propulsion & R/C Speedshop.com for a Pro-Car assembled in the House of speed itself!
I will post an Entry Blank very soon
I personally can't wait to have the honor to be this years race director and continue to carry the torch for the WDRA.
See Ya...............in July.................At The Track

Jay W 06-27-2009, 07:58 PM Thanks to Todd Moran for getting the track in #1 shape to bad the rain came and no practice. Kirt I had trouble with the registration form when I type in my name it shifts the next entry field off the page.
staatsbmxkid 06-27-2009, 08:26 PM i got to get a pack run though my car on track. was damp for first dozen laps but it ran in pretty quick. i could def flat foot the track if i wanted to. like kurt said very wide very fast and a gorgeous faclity as far as track driver stand pit road and all that are conscerned.
lets try to get a sunday morning show going there  ill do what i can to give a hand if we can make this happen. even if its nitro based show and the electrics are if there is enough for a class
reggie's dad 06-28-2009, 07:29 AM Another big win for dirt racers in the northeast! Lower prices to race, a great track to race at and a great race director as anyone who raced at the smallblock nats last year can attest, Don't miss this one! :dude:
KirtC 06-28-2009, 08:43 AM Hi Jay
The Form is very lame, only a word doc, so that will happen. Just delete some of the lines or highlight them before typing.
If for some reason that still doesn't work, just email the information requested.
Sorry for the inconvenience
Kirt
reggie's dad 06-28-2009, 03:29 PM Will there be dodc motors there to buy? :dude:
Todd Putnam 06-28-2009, 10:51 PM Yes, there will be DODC motors and batteries available...
darrel 06-30-2009, 03:08 PM I've never been to a better palce to race before in my 20yrs. of r/c racing. I ran the small block nat's last year, with a car I never ran and the track I've never seen and finished 2nd or 3rd in the c but I went home feeling like I won the whole thing.
1st class place to race guys. Due to the fact I work on sundays I will have to miss this event. Good luck to all.
bustedpiecesrc 06-30-2009, 05:24 PM got any pics of the track??
darrel 06-30-2009, 06:31 PM No pics. needed. Smooooth hard packed surface with plenty of bite. New rumble strips on the inside of the corners sounds like a good step up from last year. Just picture a nice 1.5' high wall all around the outside and with asphalt on the infield with a well marked white line all around it. If I remember its a 185' run line and quite fast and wide. Great drivers stand with plenty of room for 8 drivers, great lighting. Good food at a reasonable price. plenty of pit space,Great people, fantastic racing. Their's not a big need for marshalls because there isnt a lot of crashing, well at least during the qualifyers. I still have the pics in my phone from last year I just gotta figure out how to get them to my computer. Anybody got an 8 year old I can borrow that know's how to do that?
mike wegman 06-30-2009, 07:13 PM got any pics of the track??

KirtC 07-08-2009, 11:37 AM FYI
There are two camping areas; but only one has access to street power that can be used for R/C purposes only and space is very limited. It is available on a first come first serve basis or by calling Todd Moran at 518-848-4221 to reserve space.
See Ya.............At The Track

NASCR3 07-13-2009, 12:17 PM Dave, a strip joint in Fonda? Really? :freak: My father grew up there he said that would be a HORRIBLY BAD idea. There may be a scant few exceptions, but for the most part he thinks you'd be better off watching the cows graze in the feild. :p
