Well, it depends on the motor.
G-Jeepers actually has a really good write up on this in the tuning section.

Me, I would just slide an HP7 or 440 under that body.

I have a tycopro that will hang with just about any car on a long dragstrip.... turns, are another issue. I have another one I glued a traction magnet to, it's a really nice runner.

thanks for the great link!i just want to swap out a motor, and i get a full restoration guide!mebbe i will fix up the ch and put a mabuchi from the tyco pro...cheers g jeeper aswell for a great tutorial!:thumbsup:
just a bit more to add.the ch hp2 chassis was busted up pretty good, but i tested the motor and it sounds great.it is the first of the three johnson motors, the weaker of the three, but sounds more powerful than the stock mabuchi in an old tycopro i have been messing about with for awhile,so i swapped the ch motor after a bit of clearancing, and she sounds great.and i am going to check out that braid conversion he mentioned,to,as i want to try it on our big routed track!

glad my thread helped, Newbie. But for the CH to work properly, you'll need to keep the motor block and magnets fromt he CH. You could swap the mabuchi arm into that motor for a little frankenstein action.

actually,i have taken the easy way out.i swapped the ch motor into a tycopro and with some shaving it fit great!(due to the larger bearing on the shaft of the johnson motor.the ch will have to remain in the parts box for now,as its real busted up and you can only do so much with super glue.however i would love to hear your thoughts on doing a braid conversion for the tycopro button chassis, which is what i have put the johnson motor in.i want to basically smoke the pants off an afx buddy who gives away his tyco stuff,to show him that afx isn't the only smokin set up in ho...i would just love to beat his best lap time in a "frankenpro"!the best head to head racing on our four lane set up i have had, actually is my buddy carlos with an a/fx mt four gear, versus my tycopro daytona charger long wheelbase with foils!man,we were like neck and neck the whole time!what a hoot.i may be a convert, who knows?:p:p
