Hey everyone,

I have a novice question. I m building a monogram B 17 G and am animating it by running four 1.5v electric motors in series off of one 1.5v battery ( still gives sufficient RPMs). I added a mini toggle switch for easy on/off option. I did a test wire and the on/off worked, however, when the switch is off, the battery starts to overheat. Any ideas or alternatives? The switch is a 1.5 amp 125v/ 3.0 amp 250v. Is there a specific switch for Direct Current? I appreciate any suggestions

The switch is the same for ac/dc, all it does is make/break contact. it sounds like a short in the wiring or battery box. While series wiring gives you the rpm you want, it would be better to wire it parallel. DC motors can run hot on an undervolt.
