LOL! All great reply's!
It's to prevent any fluids from spilling out. That's the same way they hauled off my sister's car and the explanation from the tow truck guy...

zeb41 05-28-2011, 08:06 AM Pierre, that's awesome! I was just talking to a guy I work with about those. Yesterday, in fact. He had never heard of them. I've only seen two of those in my lifetime, and neither one was as cool as this one. Awesome find!
smoke14 05-28-2011, 09:27 AM That's a COE Jeep?? Nice!

PWSchuh 05-29-2011, 08:12 AM That's a COE Jeep??
Technically yes, but Jeep did not use the COE term for it, they used the alternate term 'forward control' (FC). These models were called "FC-150," etc., depending upon their load rating.
NYSWLHUNTER 05-29-2011, 09:39 PM We did some cruising around today with the top down and caught some good sunburns.
Spotted this

69Stang 05-30-2011, 09:39 AM Odd name for a drag car, but what the heck, I would most likely be praying as well while strapped into one of these things!

69Stang 06-04-2011, 10:35 AM "Hey, you guys got used tires?" The old man turns with a slow southern drawl and proclaims, "Yep, we's gots these here tractor tyres and that there big en'". I kid you not, I snapped the photo before I broke out in laughter. Anyone need a good top fuel drag slick?

NYSWLHUNTER 06-06-2011, 01:26 AM Did a quick stop at barkersville to take a pic of the old asylum. Could not stay long because the people watching the place will come out and start yelling.
It's on new York states top 100 haunted places
http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p20/nyswlhunter/03d1b70b.jpg
NYSWLHUNTER 06-06-2011, 01:31 AM I have broken into the place two times ten years ago, before the fence. It's full of crazy stuff. Looks like people just up and left. There were still beds and chairs and desks and medical stuff. In the basement there were metal tables and such. There is also a huge hole filled with water in the basement.
We have been in alot of abandoned buildings on the shadowlands hauntings website. This place is creepy during the day!!
That's really cool, NYS! I would love to check that place out.
Here's a little car that pulled into the parking lot of the bagel shop I work at. I just HAD to run out and grab my camera.
Unstable test shot as I was making my approach..

According to the driver (it was his boss', he was using it for a coffee run!) the 2-door is rare. I'm pretty sure any 1950 Studebaker is rare though

chuck_thehammer 06-07-2011, 10:45 AM I bet there are less than 50 in the whole country. 2 door are VERY rare.
Thanks for the photos...NICE.
Cool! Thanks for the confirmation information

This one's almost in my very favorite color, too. Thanks for posting the great pix.
Thanks! I think it's a Champion though, or at least that's what it says on the side.

Yeah, that shade of blue really sets off those complex curves
Full Flaps! 06-17-2011, 11:16 AM This is a cool thread. I've been meaning to post some things up here for a while. I went out looking for a cool little car to take a picture of a few months back, and came across this fine little 1972 Lotus Europa. :)
So small and low to the ground, it must be a real hoot to drive. An early Elan is one of my dream cars, but I'll gladly take this!

Full Flaps! 06-18-2011, 07:57 AM A Vega stocker sitting in a field, nope you don't see that everyday. Looks like it still has some life left in it.
zeb41 07-24-2011, 12:44 PM i saw a 19387 REO pickup in a grocery store parking lot today, and of course, I HAD NO CAMERA!!! I talked to the owner a bit and nosed around the truck a little. Way cool! This is the first time I have seen one of these. I will probably never see another one of them as long as I live. I only wish I could have photographed it. Here's a stunt double for to look at instead.

Full Flaps! 07-24-2011, 01:25 PM Cool Zeb! You might see it again. Are you sure it's not a local truck? That doesn't really look like the sort of thing anybody would take on a road trip.
Congrats on 12,000 posts btw!
zeb41 07-24-2011, 04:45 PM It's definitely a local truck F.F. There is a chance that I can see it again too, provided the owner drives it to the big Metro Cruise in August. I may run into him there. If I do, I'll be ready to shoot a few pics and post them here.
