that 1950 Ford F-1 is one of just 500 made by Ford.
my understanding after talking with the owner,
is the 3 door/ crew cab was a County Owned vehicle,
used by the road crew.
right now, the Flathead V8 is out, as is the transmission.
according to the owner, it will be 'restored', but I know it will never happen.

or, I could buy 5 of these, my friend just bought this one,

How about this one? I saw this today. Never even heard of it before. It's a '60 Dodge Phoenix. I had to do a Google search and found this info on Wikipedia:

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dodge Phoenix is an automobile which was produced by Chrysler Australia from 1960 to 1973.
The Phoenix was introduced in 1960 as an Australian assembled version of the American Dodge Dart,[1] positioned above the locally developed Chrysler Royal as Chrysler Australia’s luxury model. It borrowed its name from the top Dart model, the Dodge Dart Phoenix, but unlike its American namesake it was offered only as a four door sedan and only with a 318 cubic inch V8 engine.[2] The Phoenix was subsequently restyled each year in line with revisions to American Dodge models (initially the Dart and latter the Polara) until a change of policy for 1965 saw the Phoenix based on the American Plymouth Fury for the first time. Like the 1965 Fury, this model featured vertically stacked headlights.[1] A four door hardtop body style joined the sedan in 1967 fitted with a 383 cubic inch V8 engine whilst the sedan continued with the smaller 318 cubic inch V8.[2] The two body styles continued to be offered until the final Australian Phoenix was built in 1973.[3] The Australian developed Chrysler Sedan then inherited the role of the top level luxury model in Chrysler’s Australian range.

The speedometer is cool because you can see it from both inside and outside the car. I guess if you can run along side this thing you can check to see how fast your going.

Awesome surivor Zeb! Looks so bad~@$$, origonal paint , slightly beat and with no hub caps!!!

I don't know what Wiki is talking about with all this Austrailian jive.
These are American all the way with Austrailian versions, not the other way around.

Interesting/confusing though how Mother MoPar used the Dart name first on the huge C bodys for '60 and '61, then the very first B body Dodges were called Darts the following year in 1962, and THENNNNN....1963 finally saw the Dart name used for the much more commonly know A bodys, '63 through '76. Weird stuff!!!

Back to 1960 C body Dodges, the czech out the MUCH cooler fins on the Polara version of the above car....they're 3/4 lenth!i!i!i!i! Leave it to early '60 MoPars to give you pleasant nightmares!
http://www.carnut.com/photo/contrib/hourie/pic1621.jpg

Oh, and the above Phoenix would have either a slant 6 or a 361 big block (361s have allmost the same block as a 383). The early Poly head 318 were not in the big C bodys exept for in Canada.....and apparently Austrailia.

That fin is cooler looking Lummox. Not only is the length cool, but I also like the shape and angle of the of the trailing edge. Thirty-five years ago I would have thought thought cars like this were ugly and stupid. Today, however, the opposite is true. I would love to own one of these tanks.

The Journey reflects his boating background with the plates reading "DINGY" Got a lot of comments, but the fun started when is Blond daughter started driving the car around. Just imagine a Blond driving around with "DINGY" plates. I pointed it out to her and she said nobody but me had even mentioned it. I guess everybody else must be too polite.

An origonal California black plate car - looks solid!!!!

Another thing - I see the stick of wood holding the car in place. That means it's prolly an automatic (2spd push button).
The MoPar automatics didn't have a PARK sprague until 1962 so they relied on an unreliable parking brake that never worked....just like mine!

Little confusion here
The car pictured here is a Dodge Dart Phoenix as Lummox alluded to.
The Australian version is a Chrysler Phoenix based on the Dart. The Aussie version was assembled in Australia as far as I know and not imported. I believe Wikipedia is correct.

But back to the pictured Dart here. The dashboard. Is that a speedometer gauge facing out the windshield?

Call me demented, but I always got such a kick out of these. Maybe because I started driving in the late 70s, when they were new, and that wagon looked like a great place for nookie. I had to get by with my little King Cobra instead.
I don't really remember the side stripping looking quite like that, but still it's really cool to see one so well preserved.
