i have a complant... i never have euff free time to make to the strand and when i do get there the racing is always close and i have way to much fun and always cant wait to go back but this darn this called being a grown up always keeps me from getting back as much as i would like.. i hope this info helps ya cuz the probs i have with the strand or out of control.. lol

i voted cot bodies. the reason why is because i like the idea and i think its best for the future of pan car racing. simply because theres lots of effort going into the Tour. and there will be complaints about people having to buy a new body and i understand that! but im lowbuck racer and im not complaining about buying 1 body at the begining of the season! mcsnappy is getting a mcallester just to be different :)

ps. i only get the strand every now and then so i understand you must do what the local guys want that race weekly. but i think in the long run the Tour rules will be the hot ticket!

If We Have Same Body, Shouldn't We Have Same Esc And Motor?

After seeing this take place last season in dirt oval(the rule package) i went with the tour vote because it is the best thing for the oval racing. I still think it needs some tweaking but its better then what it was. Sort of nice to be able to pull into any track you want and your car and equipment is legal. JMO

Most likely the 13.5 class because i have a ton of motors from running on the dirtbut will se i want to getto t & l and see how it goes maybe ill have to drop back to 17.5 to get some track time. Ihave t ofigure this pan car thing out there a lotdifferent then my dirt cars LOL!!

I mounted up my firts COT body. It has been a love hate deal throughout mounting it, but my final conclusion is I like it, but like the CHD much better. It will probably be cool see all of them on the track together.

One thing that sucks, is I had to raise the rear body posts considerabley to meet the roof height rule. I also had to shorten up the front bumper a lot to get the body to fit.

17.5 lipo legend coming to a track near you ;)

You can run that in the break out class with us. I ordered my 55 Chevy Body for my break out car.

if nobody else wants to mess around with a legend car i'm cool with that. i was just gonna use my 4 cell gtb, ohp booster, 17.5 trinity motor, and a 1 cell lipo battery... i can't think of anything that would be cheaper and more fun to play around with.

willing to try it like you said it will be fun and no more the less cheap hope it will work out

what rules we are running open mod legend

i don't know if we should run them with 17.5 or 13.5 motors... any suggestions? any suggestions about the rules in general would be appreciated.

the tire rule is going to be opened to any compound just like pan cars, 40C single cell lipo packs... i'd really like to limit it to 4 cell gtb novak speed controls because we all probably have one laying around. legend coupe or sedan bodies only.

i've been workin on the front end of mine to be able to use pan car springs really cheap. i did it and it didn't cost me anything and it's free as a pan car front end but i wanna hear what anybody else has to say... if anybody even cares.

The Strand R/C Raceway is ready to announce the 2009-2010 race season. The 2009-2010 Rule package is set and posted on the website. The 13.5 COT class and 10.5 Pan Car class are following the newly formed TOUR sanctioning body rules with some very minor tweaks. We are also running a 17.5 Pan Car class this season. We chose to differ from the TOUR rules in this class because the lack of interest in truck bodies. We are also keeping tough economic times in mind by setting the rules of the 17.5 class exactly the same as the 13.5 class with the exception of the motor. This makes it easy to switch back and forth between classes or for an easier, cheaper transition into the faster class.

This season’s opening day will be October 11, 2009. We are offering our version of a stimulus race by having a $5 flat entry fee for unlimited classes. This year the Strand is having 3 “Big” races on the schedule. The first is a Turkey Derby race before Thanksgiving. All of the winners that day get a Turkey. The second race is the 2nd Annual Christmas Cash Race before Christmas. Lastly, our third race is 2nd Annual Pennsylvania Short Track Championships. After a hugely successful race last year, we are looking forward to this one coming up again. Check out the tentative schedule on the Website.

I guess it is too early to start counting the days until we open for the season. I'm not ready anyway, just wanted to put this back on page 1. It will soon be time to start purchasing all the new stuff I will need, COT body, 1 cell lipo, TM tires, 13.5 motor, maybe ESC, maybe even a new PRO 4. HOLY CRAP that's going to cost $$$$$$$$$. Might have to stop turning down all the OT at work, NNNNNAAAAAAAAA! I like my week-ends off. See everyone in OCT.

If anyone needs and bodies painted before the seaon starts, please get them to me ASAP now that the season is 2 1/2 months away. The season will be starting before we know it.
