Anybody know anything about the Eraser motors and the LRP Brushless Pro ESCs? I'm looking for another alternative setup for 2wd buggy. So far, all the car brushless stuff I've run has been Castle. I don't really have a problem with the sensorless setups, but thought I'd give a sensored motor/esc a try. I know the Novak stuff is pretty well liked at my track and I always had good luck with their brushed ESCs(Tekin, too), but I never really hear anything about the Associated/LRP gear. I'm guessing this could be comparable to the Havoc line?

From my observation, the most significant shortfall of the Eraser systems is the bonded rotor in the motor---assuming that the Tower listings are correct.
Bonded rotors are no-nos for racing. They do not hold up well under the high heat of racing, compared to the sintered magnetic material. We stopped using bonded rotors last year. Don't know much about the escs.
We believe that our new Havoc systems are pretty unbeatable, at the price, for spec racing---$149.

I tried a LRP sport brushless esc with the Eraser motor and was not very happy with it. Like Mr. Novak stated, the motor did not hold up to the stress of racing in a touring car on carpet. I may have gotten 3 good runs and then the performance fell off dramaticaly. The ESC held up decent but the motor did not, so I went back to the Novak Havoc set up and it is working great.
I feel you can't beat the Havoc for it's price and performance as long as you don't want to run anything lower than an 8.5 turn motor.
I have herd good things about the Tekin RS ESC's but have not run one, they are just too much $$$$$ for my budget.
My two cents.

Havoc it is, then. I didn't even notice the rotors were bonded - thanks for pointing that out.
