All that crying he used to do on the radio about the set up, and how it gets worse lap by lap. I would tell him "We took out wedge and put in 2 rounds of STFU and drive it" lol

Thats the only thing I can't stand about him. Other then that I don't what the deal is on the missed pit stops.

Pretty much an automatic....

Either way... it pays the same for him!!

I don't claim to be a big Jr fan, but I'am a fan just as of Carl Edwards, Mark Martin & JJ. These guys don't have to win tons of races to be popular. And one thing holds true...shrub can win it all, but will never have a fraction of fans as Jr. The only thing nascar has going today are the fans flocking to the tracks (which dwindle every week) to watch someone beat today's most hated driver...Kyle. And it's not because he wins, it's his attitude win or lose.

Umm, probably that he's not a roadcourse driver will be what he says. Who knows?

BTW, did you happen to catch shrubs inteview last night? Talk about panties in a waad! That interview must have taken 5 years off his life to get it out without exploding. All he can say is "its what we do, we come here to finish second." He needs to take that "we" out of the scenario. He used up a good car and got out driven by Carl....simple.

This is how I see it...

You take a good driver and stick him in the BEST equipment money can buy, he goes out EVERY week and runs 25th if that. Yeah, maybe he's not a "road coarse" driver but he runs the same on 50% of the ovals too... 30th! I bet Eury jr is loving watching the races on TV and seeing that he clearly wasn't the problem. I hope Jr can turn it around at some point..

I think they should move the seat up a foot and forward 3 foot in the 88 so Mark Martin can drive and set up his car each week... lol

You can also count on Tony Stewart being the Most popular driver starting next year!

kudo's to Edwards, he had a beast of a car last night! Yeah I did catch that interview from Kyle.. He want's to win, which is more then you can say for ole JR!

This time last year Jr ran top 10 every week and was top 5 in points ........ running for the same team, they got in the chase and went in the crapper, So did the mighty shrub ..... he had the most collossal flop in chase history ..... my point is good teams have bad times, non of these guys forgot how to drive a race car.

We should throw Kevin Harvick under the same bus maybe Jeff Burton with him too, what about Denny Hamlin ? ....he runs for the same team as shrub and cant do anything.

Dale Jr qualified like crap @ infineon and was running top 10 or so when the Duck made a special delivery via the UPS car into his right rear ......... btw, Jr finished 12th there last year ........ so its not like he was running worse then last year.

What happened to the #24 did they spray paint old spice on it and send it to Tony's shop ?

I havent seen anybody mention the fact that DARIAN GRUBB is not with the 88 team anymore. He was lead engineer last year and the team ran well for the most part. NOT GREAT but at least competive...they let him go to the 14 and BOOOOOOM Suddenly SMOKE can drive in the first 18 races lol. Point is, it's not one guy but they definantly lost a huge part of their sucess when D.G. went to smoke. Also, I know Grubb didn't do much with the 25 but they had some good runs, and not to mention the way he LED the 48 team for 6 weeks. say what you want but he might have been a bigger part of that team than they thought!

-Robbie B.

PS: I'm a Kyle fan, look at it this way, he is young but I understand when he is mad...he wants to win EVERY SINGLE RACE HE ENTERS AND THINKS HE HAS A GREAT CHANCE TO...therefore anything less is a dissapointment...a lot more like Earnhardt than ppl think----and the guitar thing, say what you want but any racer, any real racer would love to work for a guy who smashes the trophy just to give you a piece of it. MY 2 cents, fire away!

Thanks for posting it. I didn't get to see it other than pics. Now, I can laugh about it. Why? Because a buddy of mine ticked his little 5' 5" 100lb wife off one night and she destroyed his new Les Paul (the same guitar) in two licks on the floor leaving it in three pieces. kyle did his best with three big swings and all he could do was bust a corner.... LMAO:jest:

Ive been on pit crew's for 16 years and I never wanted a damm trophy or a piece of one.
Kyle'a a jerk. He proved it again in yesterday's race.

I was lucky enough to win a championship one year,
and I gave my trophy (a five footer) to the guy that had helped
me out from day one...
He may not have wanted one either, but there was a little mist in
his eyes when I gave it to him. But he worked as hard for it as I did.

I thought it was neat of Kyle to share it. They can all look back some
day and say 'what a cool night that was'.
He kept his promise. He said if he won, he was going to give everyone
a piece of the guitar.

He ended up buying two more to keep 'whole'..
So he gave a bunch of people more work, and a company a little
more business. Those guitars are fairly pricey.

He later gave up his Truck ride, to Johnny Benson, because he felt
the defending champion shouldn't be without a ride.
Of course Johnny was later hurt in a wreck, but the offer was generous.

He loves the role of 'the bad guy'... feeds off the controversy and boos...

With NASCAR 'the bad guy' gets the most publicity.
Early in Jeff Gordon's career, Earnhardt Sr. told him "as long as the fans are making noise, cheers or boos, they at least know who you are. When they stop making noise during driver introductions is when you have to worry."

I guess what bothers me the most with the KB thing (and I'm NO fan) was when they talked to him the next day at the cup race he said he had talked to Gibson and Sam Bass and everybody about doing it and they all thought it was a cool idea. Then on Tuesday I believe it was there is an article in the local paper about how Sam Bass was pretty much heartbroken when he saw what Kyle did to the guitar in the winners circle. Sooooo...........who's story do you believe? The punk or the artist?

cneyedog
06-23-2009, 01:52 PM
Sam Bass said on Siriius he was not told or asked about it, He said Kyle talked to him After the fact in victory lane after the celebration , Sam Bass was there to witness the destruction and said it bothered him....... but it was Kyle's at that point so he could do what he wanted, but it still bothered him as the artist and the time and effort he put into creating it.......... its still disrepectful IMHO.

OvalTrucker
06-23-2009, 02:00 PM
I'm sure Gibson couldn't care less. How many rock stars have smashed a guitar? Gibson will just sell them another.
On the other hand, Mr. Bass put's his heart into all of his artwork. He is the person that has been disrespected here.
I wouldn't have expected anything less from shrub.

Dan

You know Sam Bass has done 14 gazillion NASCAR pieces in his career,
and sells them on the internet, and they have been on QVC...
I'm as tired of hearing about "poor" Sam Bass, as some are about Kyle.
The guy is a commercial artist, this is what he does for a living.
It wasn't the Mona Lisa...

Unless someone can show me where Sam Bass did this for FREE,
I'm not too concerned about how he feels.
He was contracted by Gibson to do a NASCAR trophy, because he is
a NASCAR artist.

As far as him talking about it with the people involved,
he didn't say WHEN he talked to them..
Sam Bass later said that he did talk to him, and that he was okay with it.
Yes, after the incident. and at that point it was clear why he did it.
So I'll believe BOTH of them...

If you listen to the audio from the Victory Lane celebration,
you can clearly hear the announcer say "he's going to do it"...
Doesn't that mean that 'he' knew about the deal if Kyle won?
I don't think Sam Bass, or Gibson had to give their consent.
It was his trophy... he smashed it.
He also bought two more..
